Augur of Bolas does not work well with Aetherling. If you see an Aetherling when you're looking at the top five cards, you have to put him on the bottom of your library. If you have bad luck and see both Aetherlings, you're screwed and your only win condition is three 3/4 angels. Too risky.

Auger works fine with Aetherling. Casting auger doesn't actually reduce your chance to draw aetherling. For each game that auger shoves your aetherlings to the bottom, there will be another game where your aetherlings are close to the bottom of your deck and the augers get you there faster. Also even if don't draw aetherling the deck can still close games. It isn't just angels. It is angels+snapcaster mages + augers that attack. Once your opponent is down to 8 life you can probably burn them out from there. In the especially grindy matches where aetherling is actually necessary, the game will go long enough to loop back to the aetherlings. You can keep pointing angels at your augers to loop faster and sphinx's revelations dig deep.
