Sever the Bloodlines was ridiculous, as was Monk. Fox was MVP out of the side though

by pseudodespot on 2012-01-27 01:53 CET

Surprisingly few token decks. From what I encountered it seemed like there was nothing else.

Ffancrzy is completely right about sever. I am still unsure whether the green was good or not. I never got color screwed, just short on lands. But Gavony Township in conjunction with the vault do give you the option to threaten deathtouch and pump for the same 5 untapped lands.
On top of it you get Garruk, but i was a little disappointed about him. Since there where some souls lingering around on every corner he just had to make room for curses every game.

The Reprint of Evolving Wilds could very well be the most remarkable thing about Dark Ascension. Now there are a ton of options at least worth trying.

lol @no desperate ravings in burning vengeance

by darkwizard42 on 2012-01-27 02:06 CET

Lol at 4 desperate ravings????

by Fanboy1 on 2012-01-27 02:07 CET

Need glasses Mitch? There are four Ravings. But lol at Divine Reckoning in the Token deck.

by Ffancrzy on 2012-01-27 03:03 CET

I played against the green version and they were just watering down their threats Garruk was a bit to slow IMO

by Atreties on 2012-01-27 05:04 CET

Sorin's broken? No one saw that coming.

by JeZeus on 2012-01-27 07:35 CET

Lol, Sorin's broken? Maybe in block. Token's need a lot more help then they got to be a really competitive deck in Standard.

by Listenboi on 2012-01-27 07:40 CET

Why is stromkirk captain in burning vengance sb?

by Ffancrzy on 2012-01-27 08:03 CET

Sorin wasn't even close to being the best card in the deck, many times he just gained me like 4 life and made a 1/1 or an emblem. However, Mikeaus and Intangible Virtue were as advertised, as well as all the token makers, they all served their purpose.

by GuilleGG on 2012-01-27 10:48 CET

Why on earth does the BW token deck has no Hero of BladeHold on it? GOD he is so insane in this deck!

by tarat on 2012-01-27 11:07 CET

cuz its Innistrad block and bladehold was in mirrodin?

by Kabelis on 2012-01-27 11:20 CET

Intangible Virtue is by far the best card in the deck.

by Mrrr on 2012-01-27 12:25 CET

That divine reckoning was a bit of a mistake. Should be in the sideboard instead of devotion but by the time I found out I mixed them up the trial had already started. It's good in the token mirror though.
Sorin is good but not broken, often used as a means to get rid of other Sorins :D.
Vault is so so, I probably wouldn't run it again. Felt it put too much strain on the mana base, resulting in 2 mulligans at least. The lifegain felt redundant and the deathtouch isn't that useful when there's no big guys around. It's more of a defensive card I think, quite the opposite of township. Would've rather played ghost quarter. Grafdigger's cage is awesome against burning vengeance!
Finals was pretty close, depended on who had the fastest hand really, which turned out to be Ffancrzy :)
This was the first time I won something on magicleague. I'm going to print that bye and show it to my grandma. YEY.

by Ffancrzy on 2012-01-27 17:58 CET

Vault was fine for me, it would've won me a game had I drawn my 5th land in time.
