EDIT: I also must ask, why both Tectonic Edge and Goblin Ruinblaster? Does the deck have troubles against Valakut or something?

4xEdge/Ruinblaster helps the Jund matchup and also its good against control.

Nocturnus does not fit in the deck...its splashes Red.

The red is also for more efficient removal/burn. It gives the deck more reach that I think Vamps have got to have. The cost of splashing red is -Sluge/Tendrils. Sludge isnt really great against Jund, on average it hits 2 cards against Jund. Blightning cost 2 less and hits 3 to the face against Jund. Also it can kill planeswalkers. Terminate also does the same job that Tendrils does. Collars also give the deck more lifegain. Quake is also pretty amazing on the board. Against decks that side/main white knight/Stag its another answer besides bolt.

Finals was sick when I had bloodwitch with a collar on it only to lose to a topdecked Sledge...but dems the breaks.

I was one of the Junds that went 3-1. I lost the fourth round to Tuffy due to a mulligan to 4 and then a mulligan to 3. Felt great, man! :D

But as you guys told me, "that's what you get for playing Jund".

I agree on Tuffy's choices, though I'd probably try to squeeze some Nocturnus in there. However, Basilisk Collar would then have to go and that card is nuts. The aggro archetype NEEDS it right now, with the amount of control running Wall of Denials or Calcite Snappers, and also because it rocks the aggro mirror.

Br Vampires is, as Tuffy said in the chat, a tempo approach to the archetype, something the deck needed badly. It loses the reach provided by Nocturnus but gains much more with Blightning, Terminate and Lightning Bolt. The splash also opens up a whole new realm of possibilities for sideboarding.

What happened to all the Pyromancer decks? The Master was full of them; not even one has appeared in this trial. And, at last, Jund is starting to lose power, now that people have found ways to deal with the so-called "deck to beat".

The sb plan is as follows...

I count Edge as half a spell and half a land also

Jund: In 4 Ruinblaster 4 Techtonic Edge
Out 3 Bloodghast 3 Hexmage 2 Swamp

Also boarding for Jund depends on what kind they are playing, if its spell heavy then you side in duress x2/3 and if its more token based then you side in Quakes.

Grixis: In 4 Ruinblaster 4 Techtonic Edge 4 Duress
Out 4 Terminate 4 Bolt 2 Highborn 2 Swamp

UWR: Same as Grixis except you side out bloodghast and a Highborn, leave in all 4 bolts

Most other matchups you just side in what you feel is right, if its a non-basic heavy blue deck side in more edges than ruinblasters, if not then more ruinblasters than edges. I say this because of Flashfreeze.

Most aggro matchups you just side in Quake like against Elves. That gives you enough removal to take over the game, and you should definately win the long game.

Also Nocturnus doesnt really belong in the deck since it doesnt run fetches and also runs bolts. It also becomes considerably worse when you side in Ruinblasters/Quakes.

Just because people that played the deck dropped after they won doesnt mean a thing. The first few rounds of a tournament you can face nothing but bad decks/players.....the later rounds is what counts

Does anyone think that the Mystic WWg deck could be a viable player in the T2 format? I'm looking for something to play at the 5K in Richmond, and it seems to be pretty solid from my testing on MWS. Anyone have any thoughts as to if it will actually be a good choice to play?

Bad news: Control decks in standard are really fucking easy to pilot too. If you have a hard time piloting one, fucking kill yourself. They use the same basic strategy/decision-making principles as aggro except you have more removal. Oh shit. Better get my thinking cap.

On more positive and not shitting on people that haven't been playing mtg for very long note: New Jace seems beastly in trap decks...why not four?

Mystic seems like a good choice if you are going to a big event. Have a good plan for control, but games versus vamps and jund can be bye depending on your build. You get all the tools to make the most played decks byes though.

I'm pretty sure that steppe lynx is a hundred times better than elite vanguard......I mean, the deck does play 24 land, knight of the white orchid, and kor skyfisher...UPGRADE ;D

Yeah...I think it having two power is a bit less consistent though. The deck is not intended to be explosive, nor is that its strength. Vanguards do what they are supposed to do all the time and can kill shit during the opponent's turn with a collar. You're completely missing the point of the deck as a metagame foil. No offense intended to anyone, but that kind of lack of understanding is the kind of stuff that I use as evidence for the decline of quality of players that are involved in standard. It isn't all about going for the throat even if a deck happens to have a lot of creatures. Obviously that's a game plan for some matches, but white weenie has a history as a anti-aggro aggro deck. Kind of similar to the way vamps will control the opponent's creatures while playing a mid-range aggro game at the same time except white does it with weenies that have strong defensive abilities...which is a really strong strategy right now amongst meta staples like sligh, jund and vamps.

Who the fuck said broken? Nothing has been broken since affinity with disciples in it, dumb ass.

I don't see what is to debate about it: it does well against the DOMINANT aggro decks and has an okay aggro game against a few control decks.

I mean, look at the deck breakdown. Note how the deck has a good matchup against, like 1/4 of the decks at least and most of which are the most played. No one said it was broken as far as I can see and if they did, then they are a fucking idiot because skull clamp affinity was broken, not anything in this format...I don't think anything in this format is even capable of being close to broken. Creatures, blowing shit up and an owling mine-type deck(wasn't broken the first time, still not broken).

The deck preys on the most played aggro decks in the is what it is, which happens to work around here apparently. Metagame foil decks: Learn them, fucktard scrubs.
