Team SushiGushi ftw :)

by maogonzalez on 2010-02-11 00:51 CET

I only see Jace, the Mind Sculptor as the most used WWK card. Wheres AP?

by Lynolf on 2010-02-11 01:21 CET

Time to start preparing my anti-Jund decks. :/

by Tuffy on 2010-02-11 02:24 CET

Almost everyone is playing sub-par decks....therefore the better sub-par decks will win. Jund obv would roll this ML meta...Djinn knew that.

by LordLink on 2010-02-11 04:10 CET

When everyones experimenting with new decks the tried and true decks have a huge advantage. Post-San Diego we should have a clearer meta.

I can never understand Iona in white-based control decks. Why does everyone feel the need to spend 9 mana on their win conditions? Just use a Sphinx or something...

by TheGODehT on 2010-02-11 05:24 CET

Top 3 needs moar scute mob.

Funny thing is, I lost 4th round to a gwx deck because I couldnt hit a red source g1 or 2. I was playing Grixis and variance kicked in....happens I guess.

I agree with TheGODehT.

by meoni on 2010-02-11 09:53 CET

no day of judgment in UW control ...LOL

by Lat[GRC] on 2010-02-11 10:34 CET

Jace is broken . . . Inwell Leviathan FTW !

by Ludz on 2010-02-11 11:04 CET

Just threw the deck together before trial. I actually don't like DoJ that much in the current meta.

Also, Jace wasn't as good as I thought it would be. Maybe it has something to do with me having bad protection for her. I'd add 4 Wall of Denial.

About Iona, I think one is good, since it gives you inevitability. I was experimenting with 2, since I wasn't sure how good Chalice was.

Really want something more vs Jund, even though Firewalker was great (if you remember to trigger it :( )

The manland was sick, killing of Planeswalkers and players every match!

Anyway, UW is a great deck atm, since it has good matchups overall and can be tuned to beat what you want to beat.

I only see Jace, the Mind Sculptor as the most used WWK card. Wheres AP?

AP isn't just good enough that's why it's not making many top8s even though several people are trying it.

by Lynolf on 2010-02-11 12:39 CET

My deck is not GW Aggro, its GW Midrange...

And Jace is a "he", not a "she". -__-"

by meoni on 2010-02-11 14:06 CET

jace wins alone .. the best card of WWK..

by Steveman on 2010-02-11 16:46 CET

So how broken is the new Jace in T2?

by Berzerker on 2010-02-11 16:48 CET

I am surprised, with 10 grixis control decks in the tourney that the RDW didn't do better. It has like a 70% win rate against Grixis.

by Eldariel on 2010-02-11 18:04 CET

I am amused that with 10 Grixis Controls in the tournament, one of them got to the first page. I still don't see why anyone would play that over UWR.

by TurinT on 2010-02-11 18:08 CET

Grixis Control has now (mini) Walls.

by Djinn on 2010-02-11 18:10 CET

3 colors is plainly weaker than 2 colors control, be it Kaesh UR or Ludz UW

by Tuffy on 2010-02-11 19:00 CET

Actually turtles are bad in Grixis. Grixis wins vs uwr, has a good Jund matchup, and if your playin Time Warp like you should be in the deck, then its pretty damn quick. Oh yeah, it beats vamps fyi. Even LSV advocates Grixis....because its just better than uwr....

by Tuffy on 2010-02-11 19:02 CET

The Grixis deck on the first page........Is a pile

by Bantos86 on 2010-02-11 21:54 CET

@Tuffy: Turtles have been kickass in Grixis for me.

@Djinn: Both have strengths and weaknesses. For example, Grixis, being 3 colors, has a harder time getting the mana it needs, where UR doesn't have such a hard time. UR can run more counterspells than Grixis. UR has a harder time dealing with larger threats once they do hit the battlefield. Especially flying ones. Taking Kaesh's list specifically, if a Baneslayer hits, his options are double-Bolt, or bounce and hope to counter when they play it again. Grixis would just Terminate it.

by Djinn on 2010-02-11 22:48 CET

Not to count chandras on sb, obv
