Bah, stupid Haterator for shitting out on me round 1. Ah well, interesting Top 3. Wonder where the hell Tezzeret Control, the de facto best deck was...

by Verystrait42 on 2009-07-29 23:30 CET

Every once in awhile I wonder why I don't play this format. Then there is a ML trial for it and I become fully aware again.

Claws of Gix?

by gmoney on 2009-07-30 00:09 CET

Lunari sometimes you have to Oath again and you can't unless u sac sumtin

by cmc on 2009-07-30 00:46 CET

gogo Inkwell Leviathan!

by ik on 2009-07-30 02:34 CET

I punted uber hard vs ssilver and shoulda won =[ I think I couldve beat all of these decks easy...

by CalebD on 2009-07-30 02:38 CET

Two Keys, interesting. Is it in case you lose one to a Gifts stack or something? Oh, I suppose Mana Vault is in there too. Hm.

I really should test stax more. I have the Aggro Control mirror down cold, but I keep losing these trials in close matches to Stax variants.

Edit: And Eldariel, the second place deck is a modded version of Tezz control, he just pulled the Tezz. Dark Confidant/Remora has proven to be a decent draw engine now that Tezz lost TFK, as both cards are awesome in the Tezz control mirror.

Tyrant Oath would have been my weapon of choice had i played today, but that list gives me headaches. I do not approve of tossing vault+key in every vintage deck, and I think the general plan should be to oath into Tyrant and just win because Tyrant is nutty once it gets on line. I also enjoyed the chuckle i had when i saw claws of gix too.

by Eldariel on 2009-07-30 04:14 CET

CalebD: Yeah, I was surprised by the lack of the actual Tezzeret though - seems like the card is still plenty good. Ah well.

Claws of Gix is there because of mirror. Voltaic Key has very interesting synergy with Sensei, Mana Crypt, Mana Vault, Time Vault, so because it there are two of them.
Clayparson: And what if you put Inkwell Leviathan in a place of Tyrant to play with Oath?

And wox2 congratulations. :)

by ik on 2009-07-30 16:40 CET

Devastor: The point of Tyrant is to allow you to go infinite with moxes obvobvobv

by Alakai on 2009-07-31 13:47 CET

Tezzeret would be included, also TFK if there were enough slots. The finals were pretty unlucky as the matchup vs. Oath is pretty good because of Remora. He just drew better, happens.
Tezzeret is to high in cc @ Confidant and is not necessary at the moment.
Main Deck is optimal. (Maybe Leviathan will drop for Sphinx of the Steel Wind, meta choice)
Sb -1 Sower -1 Engery FLux +2 X
