LoL at all the Lorwyn :D

by alsorhombus on 2008-12-09 02:42 CET

lost to linkman r1, my deck was lrw - 5th - tem, ww with geddon and winter orb. would have been sweet, except faeries owns in all formats.

by LordLink on 2008-12-09 03:26 CET

You'd think everyone playing Lorwyn and splashing 7th ed for counterspells is a strong sign of an unhealthy meta. All of these decks are completely different though...

Congrats all.

by aldaryn on 2008-12-09 03:45 CET

Aw, no Patron Wizard? Bad with colorless lands I guess

by Eldar on 2008-12-09 05:29 CET

Prob cuz patron wizard is odyssey

by mrwegle on 2008-12-09 06:21 CET

gj top 4
I knew that faeris is bad match for me, but I thought that 5 cards in sb is enough. Probaly not, so if you want play my deck cut -2 faire macabre and -1 coffin purge and add 3 wispmare

by Eldariel on 2008-12-09 07:32 CET

Meh, all the red decks (Goblins, RDW, Ponza - Faeries has anti-Gobs SB though) and WW (Kamigawa+Tempest+5th - having access to Jitte, Shoal & Co is huge) tend to beat Faeries, but I suppose they weren't played a lot.

by mrwegle on 2008-12-09 12:23 CET

Eldariel what is so good in WW? And are u sure that 2nd block must be tempest?

by Teknolink on 2008-12-09 12:31 CET

I haven't even boarded in anything all day :/ So annoying. This sideboard sucks.

by alsorhombus on 2008-12-09 14:10 CET

Yeah white weenie is quite good, 5th ed has crusade and armageddon. kamiwaga would have been good for jitte with the shadow monks and what not. wish i thought of that.

by aldaryn on 2008-12-09 16:17 CET

lol, I fail. I always thought patron was in onslaught

by Anusien on 2008-12-09 20:28 CET

No Counterbalance OR Dredge?

by Lynolf on 2008-12-09 23:57 CET

Ban Lorwyn from MYOS!

Btw how the fuck can the 1º deck win? Using only Bitterblossom? :/

by Cosmo on 2008-12-10 01:07 CET

Lynolf, have you ever played bitterblossom? :P
It wins by itself.

R1: Ub faeries - scale
R2: Rbg goblins - manachuel
R3: UR wildfire - ardijan
R4: mono U wizards - Ehri
R5: Ub faeries - Linkman

Engineered plague help me so much, thats all...

@Linkman: why didnt you side in thoughtseize vs me?

by Eldariel on 2008-12-10 11:34 CET

mrwegle: What's so good about WW is that you get to play Geddon, Jitte, Shoal and a bunch of insane beaters in the same deck, while simultaneously beating the De Facto best deck Goblins (one of the few decks that claims that, to be honest). Also, yes, Kamigawa is way awesome. My experience is that you shouldn't play Crusade though - it's generally better to just run some removal, Shoals and Jittes for pump. That makes the deck somewhat better at trading.

Having a bunch of protection from YOU-cards (4-8 pro-reds, 12-16 pro-blacks post-board) is just plain awesome, and you get native graveyard hate in Samurai of the Pale Curtain too. Basically, I think WW is the best rounded deck in the format, not losing to anything bad and having a huge slew of good match-ups (including Faeries, which seem to be infesting yet another format).
