Malkolis

1. Please introduce yourself
<Malkolis> I'm Paul Robinson, better known as malkolis or captainblueballs. I live in North-central Pennsylvania, and I am eighteen years old.

2. When did you start playing in the league?
<Malkolis > I began playing magic around Beta in 1994. I started playing in the league roughly 3 years ago. I remember the old botski and the dark time when mgc ruled the type 1 community on here. ^^

3. What do you like about magic?
<Malkolis> I like that magic is an ever-changing complex game that rewards preparation and long term thinking. I think what I like the most is that its not the same pieces over and over again and that you have to change the way you play for every matchup.

4. What do you do on the site?
<Malkolis> I help maintain the day to day operation of the code on the site. Basically site maintenance and upgrades as well as anything my most humble boss requires me to do (*makes a quick run to get lamex a fresh coffee... returns a few minutes later gasping*). Okay, now where was I…

5. What do you like the most about the league?
<Malkolis> I think first and foremost what I like about the league is the level of competition for it being free. As much as people knock the randomness of the league, it really is a great place to test new ideas and get a feel for the top decks of a format without breaking your wallet. Plus, Koen and the dutchies have done a wonderful job organizing the tournament structure.

6. If you could do one thing to change the league, what would it be?
<Malkolis> Put more emphasis on some of the more obscure formats, such as type 1 and legacy to get more support for them in the long run and perhaps more support by the magic community in general.

7. Are there any league players you consider tough opponents?
<Malkolis> Well, of course I have to make the obligatory mention of Thalai and MW|Core. I mean, they just don't mess up. In standard and extended, Kraecker is a solid player, as is PV, and as much as we knock him, pg is a great player who didn't deserve the hate. In legacy and type 1 the best are easily laplie and dogbert(haro); those guys just know how to play their decks. Oh, and the obligatory shout outs to bouncyer and my first mate.

8. What is currently your favorite format?
<Malkolis> It’s a toss up between legacy and standard, as both are the most open ended of the formats and have a large number of decks that can do well in them.

9. Which league player would you like to meet in real life?
<Malkolis> Well, I would obviously like to meet gfo, haro, and bouncyer. I would like to meet probably all my homies from fatalfx past and present.

10. Do you have anything else to add?
<Malkolis> Yeah. I am a total scrub and don't ever listen to me when I make metagame calls. I usually am only doing it to fuck up your game ^_^
