Already everyone we are back with another create a card.

For this competition I want you to create a card with something never before seen in magic (ie a new type, a new mechanic, etc.). Anything goes. Have fun. I will be judging this on Friday.

Ratings will be as follows:
up to 5 points for each of the following
Creativity, Originality, and Awesomeness

Mythic Sorcery - (Mythic)
Add RRRRRRRRRRR to your mana pool, this mana may only be used to cast artifact and creature spells or to activate artifact or creature abilities.
You lose the game at the beginning of the next end step.
(You may only have one mythic spell in your deck at any time)

Whispers of Mana - Rare

(Whispers of Mana does not have a card type. Nonexistent mana costs can't be paid.)

Whenever you reveal Whispers of Mana from your hand or library, you may add 1 to your mana pool.

(I imagine it being a full-art card because it doesn't need a typeline. Think a wizard holding a bowl of fog, surrounded by wispy lights. That's why I haven't added flavor text.)

Arzul, the Harvester of Eternities 4UB

Archenemy - Arzul

(Archenemies are not controlled and can be attacked by anyone)

At the beginning of each player's upkeep, that player taps up to X permanents, where X is the number of loyalty counters on Arzul, the Harvester of Eternities.

The player that destroys Arzul, the Harvester of Eternities gains 10 life and draws 4 cards.

1, T: Put a card from your hand on top of your library, draw 2 cards from the bottom of your library.

Jerentia took her lantern to the grave hoping the knowledge she glimpsed would remain forever hers also.

Choose 1 - Deal 1 damage to target opponent for each non-basic land he controls; or Deal 1 damage to target opponent for each basic land he controls.

Landlocked (As you cast this spell, if you control fewer lands than your opponent and have no mana in your mana pool, you may choose both.)

Calculated Blast 2UR
Sorcery (Rare)

Calculated Blast deals 4 damage to target creature or player.

Numerology (When you cast Calculated Blast search your library for a card with the same converted mana cost as this card and exile it face up. Then shuffle your library. Whenever opponent cast spell with same converted mana cost as exiled card you may cast it without paying its mana cost.)

It's all about numbers my little friend.

One red mana to make 11 seems extremely good and the drawback is quite relevent. However with the exception of only being able to have one in your deck this reminds me of the epic spells from Kamigawa block.

A creature that tutors when it dies. I feel this is extremely powerful for 3 mana and can be abused really hard. This is definitely a black feeling mechanic.

I see these are supposed to work in tandom with each other but the second one is very powerful. Also, the fact that the first one is a man land that pays life instead of mana to activate is quite unique. However I am only going to be grading the second entry.

A mana source without a card type. Interesting. I see this being used in an infinite mana loop.

Now this is awesome. Basically a planeswalker that no one controls with a tanglewire effect. I really like this card.

So if it cant be cast this seems like it is a straight up combo with cascade but even cascade says cast so how are you supposed to play this? I think the wording needs to change slightly.

So if you have fewer lands and no mana in your mana pool you deal damage equal to the number of lands target player controls. This seems rather bonkers but kinda lame as it cant be used as a removal spell but who needs removal when your opponent is dead right?

sorcery speed removal that tutors for a card with the same mana cost and lays it as a trap. Interesting.

Also on a side note: Balaviaris' card does not work as intended. The term "up to" allows a player to chose zero for that number. Just for the record. I think the idea is great. I just want to know how far behind i am Wink
