Here's my treefolk deck, I made it with cards I had and played it in FNMs, i won many games and thought it was good but not enough to be competitive, I was wondering if there was a way that eventually a treefolk deck could be competitve...

Well I will post my decklist with some comments, feel free to comment too and make suggestions to make the deck better.

Lands:
- 4 Murmuring Bosk (probably the best land to use in a multicolored treefolk deck)
- 4 Caves of Koilos
- 14 Forest
(22 lands total)

Creatures:
- 4 Doran, the siege tower (obviously)
- 4 Leaf-Crowned elder (probably the best kinship around)
- 4 Dauntless Dourbark
- 4 Timber Protector
- 4 Treefolk Harbigner
- 4 Birds of paradise (turn 2 Doran Very Happy)

Tricks:
- 1 Loxodon Warhammer
- 4 Search for Tommorow
- 4 Oblivion Ring
- 3 Nameless Inversion
- 2 Scapeshift

Sideboard:
- 3 Krosan Grip
- 2 Cloudtresher (hate fairies/rogue)
- 4 Luminese (hate dragonstorm)
- 2 Stupor
- 3 Shriekmaw
- 1 Primal Command

It is really fun to play with an uncommon deck (not like Dstorm or rogues or reveillark/blink or even elves... it is getting boring)

Battlewand Oak?

8 4cc creatures is probably too much. Dourbark is good, but Kinship is not a constructed-worthy ability. The chance of actually hitting another treefolk is too low, and every turn you don't is a turn you should rather have another creature in play.

22 lands isn't enough to play Timber Protector when you need it (i.e before the opponent have managed to deal with your creatures).

Scapeshift is played after you should have got the mana/colours you need. It doesn't fit the deck.

4 Birds of Paradise
4 Treefolk Harbinger
4 Doran, the Siege Tower
4 Battlewand Oak
3 Dauntless Dourbark
3 Chameleon Colossus
2 Timber Protector

4 Search for Tomorrow
4 Nameless Inversion
3 Oblivion Ring
1 Loxodon Warhammer

4 Treetop Village
4 Murmuring Bosk
4 Horizon Canopy
1 Urborg, Tomb of Yawgmoth
1 Swamp
1 Plains
9 Forest

sb:
4 Thoughtseize
4 Cloudtresher
2 Loxodon Warhammer
3 Shriekmaw
2 Tormod's Crypt

What about something like this? The curve is better, I think.

Treefolk talk? Then it is to me for sure! Very Happy

I've tested my treefolk deck lots of times. It is very strong against aggro, burn, and another couple of decks due to their high toughness. But it sucks against blink and sometimes faeries, unless you can get Doran in play.

Try it out if you like:

// Lands
1 [TSB] Gemstone Mine
1 [LRW] Swamp (1)
1 [PLC] Urborg, Tomb of Yawgmoth
3 [LRW] Forest (1)
3 [LRW] Forest (2)
3 [LRW] Forest (3)
3 [LRW] Forest (4)
2 [LRW] Vivid Grove
2 [10E] Caves of Koilos
4 [MOR] Murmuring Bosk

// Creatures
3 [LRW] Shriekmaw
4 [10E] Birds of Paradise
3 [LRW] Treefolk Harbinger
2 [MOR] Bosk Banneret
1 [LRW] Battlewand Oak
3 [LRW] Dauntless Dourbark
1 [MOR] Unstoppable Ash
3 [MOR] Chameleon Colossus
4 [MOR] Leaf-Crowned Elder
4 [LRW] Timber Protector
4 [LRW] Doran, the Siege Tower

// Spells
3 [LRW] Nameless Inversion
2 [10E] Loxodon Warhammer

// Sideboard
SB: 3 [LRW] Cloudthresher
SB: 2 [LRW] Thoughtseize
SB: 3 [FUT] Heartwood Storyteller
SB: 2 [LRW] Gaddock Teeg
SB: 1 [LRW] Oblivion Ring
SB: 2 [LRW] Nath of the Gilt-Leaf
SB: 2 [LRW] Rootgrapple

i guess i just dont understand why you guys are using birds of paradise. The deck is mostly green, splashing for doran and some removal.

You should just change the birds to add more treefolk harbringers and a couple more bannerets.

The decks seem good otherwise. Adding the 4 cloudthreshers will be good vs faeries, extirpates vs blink, and maybe add garruk main to make the deck a little more resilient.

Bops are for 2 turn doran.
Dorans makes the Bops a 1/1 flyer for G.
Bannerets dont help Doran come into turn 2 casue of its BGW cost.

Garruk looks like a good idea but i would run overrun instead.Or maybe strength in numbers cause its cheaper and ovverrun is more agro intensive.

My treefolk deck GBW
It kills until you get enough mana to play the deck... most of it runs on 4

4 Treefolk Harbinger
4 Birds of Paradise
4 Leaf Crowned Elders
4 Timber Protectors
4 Dauntless Dourbark
2 Doran
4 Indomitable Ancients

2 Door of Destinies
2 Loxodon Warhammer

2 Primal Command
3 Wrath of God-- I might put in a fourth if i can get enough cash
4 Nameless Inversion

2 Swamp
2 Plains
11 Forests
1 Urborg

Many Good combos once you have 4 mana, if Leaf crowned elder is out,
Play Harbinger and choose which treefolk you want next turn for FREE
loxodon Warhammer and anything will get you the life back you lost in the beginning stalling for time. If you wrath all your creatures before Protector is out, you can shuffle them back in with primal command.

Etc.... i can keep listing if u want

2 Doran but 4 Indomitable Ancients? That seems awkward. You should probably cut the Indomitable Ancients and focus more cards on getting to your key mana point which is obviously 4. Cutting them also reduces the strain on your manabase. With such a mana heavy deck you should play other acceleration, possibly Search for Tomorrow. You might also want to add more painlands (Caves of Koilos et al.)

well i changed it 3 plains 1 swamp 1 urborg
then with murmuring bosk and 4 birds that gives me 11 possible plains and 9 possibly all swamp

so that covers the mana problem and i added a few more cards since i couldn't find chameleon colossus, 2 cararin to take advantage of the timber protector when i use wrath, 2 changeling titans to envoke treefolk harbinger effect TWICE when it comes into play and when champed dude dies makes him key with leaf elder

right now i only have 2 birds so when i get my 2 other ones i will drop an ancient and a titan

plus i only have 1 primal command so if i get a 2nd ill drop the other titan

The cards you replace the good cards with aren't very interesting. It is pointless commenting on the Titans and Ancients because you are going to replace them, and we all know Chameleon Colossuses and Birds and Primal Commands are better.

What is the strength of your deck? What are its weaknesses? Which matchups do you enjoy and hate? Those are the issues that matter now.
