3 Questions:
1- My opponent plays counterspell on my Llanowar Elves when I play it. Can I use Divert in his Counterspell, targeting the Counterspell itself? If yes, is the Counterspell countered? (Assuming he doesn't have 2 mana left to pay)
2- If I Remand a Flashbacked spell, where does it go to?
3- If my opponent plays Mana Leak on my Siege Wurm when I play it, can I tap creatures to pay its additional cost? |

Might have to get a second opinion on this, but I don't think counterspells can target themselves, even in a situation like this. The normal reason is that you need the target for the spell to have even gone on the stack in the first place, so the target would have to be on the stack. Here, though, the counterspell is on the stack, so maybe this works. I'm also curious if you can change the counterspell's target to Divert itself? (another way of getting the job done).
One thing I know for sure, though, is that if you Remand a flashback spell, it's rfg'ed because the rfg is part of the flashback cost. Makes Remand even better than normal in those situations. |

Well question 1, not entirely sure of the interaction of changing the target of counterspell to itself. But the easier way to do it is use divert to change the target of counterspell to divert then the counterspell is countered upon resolution due to lack of target as the divert has already resolved.
Question 2 is simple. Its RFG, as paying flashback removing it is part of the ability of flashback.
question 3. You have to pay three. Its not part of the casting cost thus convoke doesnt work. Its a cost you must pay while its on the stack.

1. no, because a spell cannot target itself. you can however divert the counterspell to target the divert itself (since it is still on the stack when the effect is applied)
2. the card will be removed from the game.
3. no. |

| What you can do is to redirect his Counterspell onto your Divert, as it will be still a legal target to redirect at the time it's redirecting |

You've gotten all the right answers, but I'll sum it all up and add some extra info:
| Lynolf wrote: | | 1- My opponent plays counterspell on my Llanowar Elves when I play it. Can I use Divert in his Counterspell, targeting the Counterspell itself? If yes, is the Counterspell countered? (Assuming he doesn't have 2 mana left to pay) |
A spell can never target itself,so no you can't Divert it onto itself. You can, as was pointed out, Divert it to the Divert spell. When you change the targets the Divert spell is still on the stack and is thus a legal target. Shortly thereafter the Divert will go to the graveyard and when the Counterspell then tries to resolve, it will be countered for having all illegal targets.
| Lynolf wrote: | | 2- If I Remand a Flashbacked spell, where does it go to? |
It is still removed from the game. Flashback has a replacement effect built into itself that says 'If the flashback cost was paid, remove this card from the game instead of putting it anywhere else any time it would leave the stack.' So no matter where it would be going, it'll end up in the RFG zone.

No, you can only use Convoke to pay the total cost of the spell. Mana Leak is an entirely different spell that asks for an entirely different payment. Convoke can not apply to it. |
