Why do people play snow-covered lands in T2 withought scrying sheets when it is no help at all to the deck?

Because there is no downside. I mean, you might randomly make someone play around skred or think that you are running Phyrexian 3/4 guy or something. Also, the snow lands look pretty gangsta'.

They may also be running snow-related SB options (such as Ronom against Teferi or Ironfoot against aggro) that you just didn't see in your matchup.
