Help save 'Jericho' from the foolish execs at CBS !

I am not an avid fan of network television as it typically is just the same old shows season after season, or spin-offs of existing series such as CSI : [ Insert Random Title ].

However, when I saw the previews for Jericho, it peaked my interests and so I watched the first episode. Needless to say I was surprised/shocked/impressed with the show. It was a breath of fresh air into the dullness of the general television offerings.

After that, I watched Jericho every night it was on television when I was off work, or if I did work, I would watch it off of the Jericho website as soon as I could.

I was disappointed when it was taken off the air for like 8 weeks. I believe that it probably hurt the show's momentum. Then once it came back it was placed against American Idol which is probably going to dominate ANY show put up against it.

CBS should not cancel this show, it is far too good for that. Most of the excuses they gave for the cancellation are problems of their own making.

As for saying them saying the Nielsen ratings had fallen.. well ... frankly, in this day and age the Nielsen ratings are inaccurate and almost irrelevent. Many people TiVo shows, or watch them online, or various other record-to-watch-later methods. The Nielsen ratings do not reflect this.

If you look over the Jericho forums hosted on CBS.com you will see how many people want the show to stay on. It would be a disservice to the television viewerbase to allow the cancellation of one of the few interesting shows on television.

Actually, rumor has it that Showtime is picking up Arrested Development, which would be awesome because it is the best show that has come out in the last 5 years.

Whatever, fuck Jericho, Prison Break, 24 and Heroes.

I still mourn Arrested Developement and Mr.Show though...I am pretty sure obscene amounts of petitions got family guy back on the air and have kept Southpark on the air thus far.

You might just have to accept the fact that Jericho is a shitty show and it is being removed due to surveys...unlike MY NAME IS EARL, THIRTY ROCK and THE OFFICE, which completely and utterly rock.

Jericho isn't shitty... It's awesome.

It consistently placed #2 in its time slot.. up against retarded American Idol..

And it beat out plenty of other shows that WERE brought back..

It was #2 you say, huh? Oh, remember when New Kids on the Block, Backstreet Boys, Britney Spears, Celine Dion etc. etc. etc. were on the top 10 charts for YEARS? So, by your logic, that makes them "good". Sure... I'll go with that.

That show is awful. First, my parents watched Walker, Texas Ranger, then Nash Bridges, then Jag, then (insert empty nest syndrome show here) and now Jericho. That, more than being rated #2 says its good, tells me that the show on the contrary sucks. All these shows on t.v. are just advertising with kitschy fluff in between to keep you interested from one commercial to the next.

Who cares about jericho. My girl veronica mars is gone, gone I tell you. And thats on the CW which has no good shows or good rating, so why get rid of its one good show. Sob, it makes no sense.

At least friday night lights survived.
