I've started playing Magic after some time of inactivity, and here's the start of my deck. It's still very much a work in progress, but its shown some potential in playtesting.

22 Forests
4 Thorn Elementals
3 Llanowar Elves
3 Quirion Elves
3 Giant Growth
2 Fog
2 Wirewoof Elf
2 Lone Wolf
2 Elephant Ambush
2 Blanchwood Armor
2 Fyndhorn Elder
2 Treetop bracers
1 enormous Baloth
1 Worldly Tutor
1 Silverback Ape
1 Chatter of the Squirrel
1 Dawn's Reflection
1 Rampant Growth
1 Wing Snare
1 Needle Storm
1 Ancient Silverback
1 Treetop Bracers
1 Spined Worm

--- (please note that this is w/ real life cards hence why I have just a few of some)

Playtesting, I was able to beat out an affinity deck 2/4, and an elves deck a handful of times before its owner was able to refine it so it was fast enough to beat me. The main problem is while I can stay alive long enough to drop the Thorn Elemental (the largest card in this deck, and my trump card), I don't stay alive long enough to deal 20 damage, the deck is too slow.

My current ideas are:

* Axe some of the larger creatures (probably the apes) (leave the elementals), and change the smaller creatures to be all elves. Add Elvish Champion, Blanchwood Armor, and Treetop Bracers. Add more Wordly Tutor to allow me to get the creature cards I need.

* Add red, axe the smaller creatures, add goblins with burn spells and some of the larger creatures. (I'm not in love in this idea because I rather just play a pure goblin deck but want to play with larger creatures for a change)

* Add more cards to accelerate my mana curve, add Coat to Arms and more creatures of the same type to allow defend better until my large elementals are out.

Suggestions, critisms, any comments are welcome

I mean no offense, but buy better cards.
Go to your local stores common box, they tend to sell commons for like 10 for a dollar or at worse 4 for a dollar. Buy a better base for the deck, none of this 1 of this 1 of that 2 of random card 1 of another random card. Pick out 10 good common creatures in extended and use 4 of each of them.
Might i suggest the gatherer to find the best green commons.

Also... Green Red is strickly better then Mono Green imho, Burn+creatures better than just creatures.

Good luck.
