Simple Poll to settle an argument between me and dv8r. He says that most people will rate Bob better than Psychatog. I say exactly the opposite.
Please vote with consideration to all their formats they were played in. |

Bob > Tog
just because tog needs a deck focused around him to be at his peak efficiency whereas with confidant, you just play him on turn 2 and let him go |

IMO, it just so happens that a deck "built around tog" is your perfect control deck. Drawing cards and casting spells is pretty indicative of a control deck On the flip side is Ichorid, which uses Tog quite nicely sometimes as well. |

this is the stupidest arguement ever, not only is bob more played than tog in every sanctioned format outside of odyssey block (and I bet it comes close there as well), it's also clearly much better.
Tog is merely a good finisher and an ok madness enabler. You could win just as easily with morphling, meloku, heck, even wind elemental. Dark confidant makes whole archtypes viable, such as hand in hand or rakdos deck wins. Furthermore it IS played a LOT more in t1 and t1.5, where only the most powerful cards have even a shot at being played. THAT is why it is the better of the two. |

I don't think the amount of times one card is played vs another is indicative of its power level. Else you could just say Island is broken
I think Tog has definitely won a more % of games in Magic than Confidant, not from a time perspective (cause of course Tog has been around longer), but from the "Best decks" magic has seen in the various formats.
I will admit that Confidant creates a bigger advantage by its self, but you do usually have 56 other cards in your deck, so this point is kind of moot. I think when you compare all the decks that have been created to use Psychatog well agaisnt all the decks that have been created to use Bob well, I think Psychatog's power level and winning % is generally higher. |

| Tog was the best creature in Magic for a while. A lot has happened since then that has nerfed him, Pithing Needle, Wipe Away, more powerful creatures in general, Condemn and such, all of which make Tog less effective. Lets not forget what Tog was in his prime though, they had to ban cards to make him less viable. |

and bob doesn't? I would like to see you play bob in a deck with more than 2 cards at 4+ cmc |

You haven't experienced Bob's true power until you've flipped over Draco |

Tog is the most powerful creature ever printed. Period. He ALONE straight up wins games in 1 turn, how is that not the best creature ever? Tog defines every metagame he is legal in(save extend as of late, due to sudden shock which, imo, was specifically designed to kill tog in extended).
Dont get me wrong, Bob is very good. But he has NEVER defined anything, hes just been icing on the cake in black decks. Bob is a very mana efficient creature with automatic card drawing built in which is very powerful.
But to compare Bob to Tog as the best creature of all time is a little silly, Bob clearly falls short by a mile. Its true they due perform different functions so it’s a little hard to precisely compare then. Bob draws a single card a turn at the pretty relevant cost of life while Tog just pumps. Although, the simple fact that tog pumps for so much that it allows him to win in a single hit places him far in the lead as the best creature of all time. |

| i would say meddling mage is better then Bob, but not then Tog. Meddling mage can slow opponent from wining but Tog Wins in 1 hit. |
