This is just a scenario:
I have a Meddling Mage in play. If my opponent plays Lightning Helix and in response I use Momentary Blink on my Meddling Mage and name Lightning Helix, what would happen to the Helix? |

I can now officially say that the game hates me and screws me over every time I think of something.
edit: Thanks Wiley |

If the Helix is targeting the Meddling Mage, the helix is countered though |

| Because the Helix was targeting the MAge, it will be countered on resolution (because when the Mage comes back into play it is no longer the same Mage, so the Helix has no target). As the Mage returns to play, you can name a new card for its ability. If you name Helix, it will not affect the Helix already on the stack. |

he never said the lightning helix is targeting his mage. |

My bad...Then the Mage's ability still has no effect on the Helix that is on the stack. I still answered his question the first time, so pointing out some frivilous mistake like that is not productive or beneficial in the least. |
