You sudden shock my ravager so that I can't play anything in response. Would welding jar work? Let the shock resolve, damaging ravager, then welding jar him to save it? I think it works but I don't want to get any ideas prematurely (sp?).

Also, why has tooth of chis-goria been cut?

I think I may have had one more but I can't remember.

Please someone correct me if I am wrong, but I believe as soon as the sudden shock resolves, the ravager will be sent to the graveyard due to SBE's. The welding jar puts a regen sheild around the ravager, so the next time it would die it gets regenerated instead. No one gets prioirty when SBE's are checked, and you will not have time to activate the welding jar before the ravager dies.

As for your second question, affinity has been fine tuned, and the space that tooth takes up just isnt good enough compared to the alternatives.

IanRobbins is right.

tooth was never played. affinity was used to play scale vs. mirror/boros. it was cuted because affinity can play better cards.

Tooth of Chiss-Goria and Scale of Chiss-Goria Were used back in the Mirrodin block days of Skullclamp, where they had so many cards in their hand they couldn't POSSIBLY cast them all. Tooth and Scale were cut after the clamp was banned.

Of course, some hardcore affinity players like me still use the tooth maindeck. Why? None of your business. Also, Scale in the sideboard is tech Vs. Burn.

If Wizards had brought back affinity in either Time Spiral or Planar Chaos (or if they do it in Future Sight), I would have quit Magic until it left Standard.

I think they learned from their mistakes Razz
They may bring affinity as an ability back but I'd expect cards with 2-digit mana costs Razz

Just remember, Affinity always says, "Affinity for Artifacts". It could just as easily be Affinity for Creatures, Affinity for cards in your hand, Affinity for Enchantments your opponents control, Affinity for cards in your graveyard.... Whatever.

Crapmite 7
Artifact creature - Construct
Affinity for legendary lands in opponents graveyard.
2/2
Surprisingly enough, R&D had to change it's casting cost from 4 to 7...

K, that's what I was afraid of for the welding jar, I was just wondering if the damaged stacked like it did in combat where u get damage, then play stuff, then resolve damage.

And I was referring to Tooth in standard/mirrodin block. It just seems kind of like a 1/0 creature for 0, no?
