What do you guys think? I haven’t had enough time to playtested him in sealed and im going to a sealed tournie tomorrow . does anyone have any opinions on him in limited? Is the pluses to late game creatures worth taking up a slot im sealed?
Vigean Hydropon
1UG
Creature - Plant Mutant [0/0]
Graft 5 (This creature comes into play with five +1/+1 counters on it. Whenever another creature comes into play, you may move a +1/+1 counter from this creature onto it.)
Vigean Hydropon can't attack or block. |

hmmm...
he could be somewhat useful i guess in the midgame to help your later creatures out when the game tends to stall out..
early game hes a piece of crap unless you have absolutely nothing better to do on turn 3-4...
just depends on how u use it i guess |

It is a useful card if your limited pool can make use of the counters, there are many... squirter being the one that can flat out win. Additionally you can replenish it (and your army) with a thrive, and it can of course convoke, or make use of some enchantments like drawing a card.
Anyhow, it's not a star but it's definitely a great support card for decks making use of the counters on creatures does X effect. I would prefer not to run more than 1. |

Wow... so it's a 5/5 graft-battery... special...
This thing is a piece of shit even in limited. I guess if you're dropping a bunch of really big creatures later on and the extra +1/+1's can give you that advantage, sure. All I know is I probably wouldn't draft it, but then again, it is a situational situation, isn't it? |

I wouldn't say it's bad...sure, there are times when you won't want to draw one of these. It's better in the early game for sure, as it basically says "The next 5 creatures you play get +1/+1 permanently" (especially useful with evasion). Even late game, if you're blue you probably have bounce or card drawing to get to other creatures.
Also, this thing becomes much better if you have something like Scatter the Seeds or Patagia Viper. Simic Guildmage is even better with it...not only can you get the +1/+1 counters moved to something more useful, but you can move opponents' Faith's Fetters, Plumes of Peace etc. over to the Hydropon where they become useless |

| Scatter the seeds comes to mind..I used Seed spark last nite in a sealed game with him out, and it was pretty rad. I like it! |

| I suggest you ehm... haters... go and read the PT coverage. It's nothing special, but it's very playable. |

| highly playable. often in limited, bigger creatures with evasion flat out win. he makes all those neat little fliers in gwu bigger and better. not only that but if you are in gwu, you've probably got some token producers. Plus his synergy with other graft abilities make him really cool. all the filler creatures you play with because you have to in limited, get bigger - bottom line. when he hits the board, your entire deck may as well have just gotten +1/+1 |

Vigean Hydropon is tech...hes nice... a 2/2 2cc can be a 3/3, a 3/3 can be a monster! and the abilities of Aquastrand Spider, Cytoplast Root-Kin, Cytospawn Shambler, Helium Squirter, Plaxcaster Frogling and Sporeback Troll can be played on the newcomer guys..
Vigean Hydropon FTW |

| I'm always happy to play it. It's like a crappy Glorious Anthem, and a crappy Anthem is still good. Also, sometimes you get to put a Grasp or Halo on it and that's just gravy. |
