The Brick was what I had in mind when I saw this round (and it was the reason I almost didn't use this format), but it seems Processor.dec took it home.
Round 16's format is one suggested by stranger. All cards other than lands and 1/1 creatures (that is, creatures with 1/1 printed in the bottom-right) are banned, along with a few others.
Banned list:
Cards that aren't lands or 1/1 creatures
Unglued/Unhinged
Mishra's Factory
Treetop Village
Faerie Conclave
Ghitu Encampment
Forbidding Watchtower
Tomb of Urami
Kird Ape
Triskelion
Mogg Fanatic AND ANYTHING FUNCTIONALLY LIKE IT
Myr Servitor
Mesmeric Fiend
Nezumi Shortfang
Strip Mine
Wasteland
Ghost Quarter
The Tabernacle at Pendrell Vale
Kjeldoran Outpost
Vitu-Ghazi, the City-Tree
Quicksand
Desert
| Quote: | What is 3cb?
3-Card Blind (3CB) is a very unique game. The rules are as follows
Your deck is composed of 3 cards, all of which start in your hand.
You have no library (technically, the library exists, but starts at 0 cards) and no sideboard (Wishes fetch nothing).
Random effects always go in your opponent's favour.
You can see your opponent's hand, so you can always make the best possible play.
You don't lose as a result of not being able to draw a card.
You will play each opponent twice, once going first, once going second.
For each win, you score 3.
For each draw, you score 1.
For each loss, you get nothing.
Other than the aforementioned, EVERYTHING IS HANDLED EXACTLY LIKE A REAL GAME OF MAGIC! |
To make an entry, PM your deck to me (GRAH) in the following format:
Subject: 3cb Tournament Entry or 3cb Tournament Revision
Deck Name
Card #1
Card #2
Card #3
(For those who don't know, you don't actually play, you just send the decks and, because of the way the rules work, it's easy for me to compute results.)
If you have any format ideas, tell me!

You might want to add Forbidding Watchtower and Stalking Stones to the banned list as well. Neither seems quite as strong as those cards already on the banned list though.
**EDIT: I just thought of another card.. Desert should be considered for banning as well. **END EDIT
Also, my deck gets 6 points against the Hickory Woodlot, Tempting Wurm, Tempting Wurm decks. If a Tempting Wurm is cast, I can drop both Indentured Djinn's and win the damage race. So, all I have to do is save up to 6 mana on Saprazzan Cove and cast both Djinns the same turn (winning the damage race that way too).
I think my deck gets 1 point instead of 6 vs. Elnaith's (Mercadian Bazaar, Mercadian Bazaar, Fanning the Flames). When I play first, he can get just enough mana to cast Fanning the Flames with Buyback to kill the 1st Djinn, and Fanning the Flames without Buyback to kill the 2nd Djinn to draw the game. When Elnaith plays first, he can build enough mana to kill both Djinns with Buyback before I can kill him. I think. |

quicksand and desert should be banned. they let you cast an artifact creature and then kill anything that attacks. ;o. Similarly, forbidding watchtower is overpowered in this format. Stalking stones is ok to keep, I *think*, since you have to devote 2 cards to getting a 3/3 on turn 8 or so.

| Should the portal Mogg Fanatics be banned also (Fire Bowman, Goblin Firestarter - can only use ability during your turn, before combat)? |

| And also maybe frostling since the damage to a player is pretty negligable? |

| Yeah. I'm just kind of off. This format needed a lot more bannings than I thought. |

there are cards more ban worthy than goblin fanatic in this format:
Icatian Javelineers
Shadow and Granger Guildmage
But I guess these fall under the fanatic-like qualification
Since entries are closed I guess I can't play in this one. but atleast I'll post my list
Ancient Tomb
Azorius Chancery
Pride of the Clouds |

I actually considered that, except with a city of traitors instead of the tomb. You can stack the sacrifice trigger under the bounce trigger so you can play it next turn, and thus make tokens without pain. |

Actually, no. What DID fall under it were cards that can come down and IMMEDIATELY do 1 damage. Fanatic is much worse than Kris Mage or the Guildmages because it two-for-ones with anything. The only continuous pinger that fell under this category was Vulshok Sorcerer. |

Wait, you mean vulshok sorcerer is banned? Well, i suppose it can't hurt now to tell, but having no idea vulshok sorcerer somehow falls under mogg fanatic type cards, I included it in my deck. I don't quite think this is fair
No one could've really figured that it fell under the anything like mogg fanatic category since the anything like it clause was added after the portal versions and frostling were suggested for banning... |

| Uh, you never sent me a deck. When people send me decks with banned cards or decks that don't work, I DO inform them. |
