Chat Moderaters Needed

For some time, #magic-league and #workstation have been moderatered by j2s and above. But really around 9pm(central) no j2 is there...or j3 for that matter...

And this leads to a huge problem....flooders.
Anyone can tell that as I write this our chat has been getting flooded by a loser for the past err 15-20 minutes? Thats a problem. And unfornetly it disrupts league activity.

What about the ignore option? Not everyone can ignore and dial ups IP changes everytime you restart your comp also noting some people can hack their ips...

So, I vote someone should make a Chat Moderater.
Who? hmmm....me? and if not me someone.

Hmm. I'm partial. Cause let's face it. Some people will go power hungry and just start kicking and banning people they hate, which basically means that when I get unbanned, some person will ban me again just because they hate me for whatever...I myself have no hate towards anyone in the league except for two or three, As much as I don't like the idea of some people getting ops, I will say "Yes" just because we need more ops around this time....As long as they aren't immature...I guess that goes my chances of being op....Oh well.

If this is a petition, I sign. I haven't been on once when Craze hasn't been on, for instance, and there is a flood problem right now.

We definetly need something and we need it ASAP, DL would be a good chat mod...because idk Smile

Laplie cant be around all the time to kick a spammer/flooder everytime one shows up. We need someone designated for late night activity because now the flooder(s) know what this time of night is vulnerable.

This happened today. Someone flooded for a good 20 minutes with no J2/J3s or IRCops to stop him for quite some time. It was very annoying.

As much as I support DL, she has no real qualifications nor does she want to be a chat moderater...she said so..

Well, its all mostly the same person. The problem is that one of the proxies he is using is on *.sympatico.ca which means putting a perm ban on it is perm banning half of Canada. (Which isn't such a bad thing Smile

)

However, the problems which you are talking about could be solved with a bot. Anti-flood, anti-repeat, anti-/hop-flooding, etc.

See...I did my ghosting at this time...When no ops were on and something needed to be done...so I did that something, anywho, I got 15 days left, Whatever
