Yeah, I've been trying to find this software for sometime now, a buddy of mine and I were up till like five in the morning last night finding it and playing it at his house(awesome!) Now it's the next day (2:00 in the afternoon) and I'm at my house trying to download it to my computer using the same links and methods he used...
The site he got it off of (www.CabalCity.com) wants me to pay for a month of access (which we didn't have to do last night)...
www.the-underdogs.com keeps giving me error messages everytime I try to download it (and has been for weeks now)
Any other ideas, sites that I can get this from, etc.? |

Ya know, I came back to the home page, found a reply to my question, got all excited, clicked on the link...
found your question...
Just Kidding
It's an awesome game, basically it's an MTG RPG (with other options available, sealed deck, so on and so forth)
You run around trying to complete different quests for different towns. You defeat your enemies by playing them in a game of magic for ante. I believe the card sets stop at like Antiquities but there are no restrictions, meaning it is possible to have a deck with four Black Lotus, four of each Mox, four Ancestral Recall, four Time Walk, four Timetwister, four Wheel of Fortune, four lightning bolts... see where this is going?
you do have to collect the cards, though and the difficulty level you set it at in the beginning of the game and the color deck you choose will determine what cards you start out with (you usually start out with a bad sealed deck from Alpha, Arabian Nights and Antiquities, the best combo in your deck being bird maiden enchanted with a Giant Strength, your best defense - Wall of Stone...)
But you eventually accumulate Ball Lightnings ( Oh, apparently the card sets go up to The Dark, so I have no idea where they stop) and Mox Rubys and Lightning bolts and defeating enemies becomes much easier - and more fun. Then your off to collecting more pieces of the power and beating the game.
Example: Last night on the second hardest difficulty level, after three hours of dealing with some **** casting land tax, smoke, kismet, and then Serra Angel every turn till I was dead, we decided to restart and put it on easy mode.. We started with two Ball Lightnings in our deck... then VERY early on we "happened upon" a Mox Ruby! Hawt! Yeah, you can like enter specific places on the map and "happen upon" cards, you don't get so lucky on the harder levels...
Now, back to the relevant question... Where else can I get it from? |

I used to have the games this was a sequal to. it's pretty cool (the quest mode atleast) you pick a color and start out with a crappy-generated deck. Then you play a quest mode kinda like a cheap fianl fantasy and play magic against creatures and do quests to get new cards and more life (you start at 10 I think), The sweetest part is you play for ante!!! I used to play the old game and my deck was so savage it was like black/green/blue and revolved around Demonic Consultation, Demonic Attorney, dark rituals, hippies, paralyzes, control magics, vampires, and natural selections + all the power I could get. So I'd steal like 1/2 their deck while kicking there ass... It was brutal. |

| Pollo, I tried underdogs, I keep getting an error message. Every time I tried underdogs, I get the same error message. I don't understand it, the only thing I can think of is maybe all their bandwith is in use right now and I have to wait until a different time of day when their traffic is a little slower to download it. |

It is very unusual to see people reacting to Shandalar as something new. I have had Duels of the Planeswalkers for longer than I can remember. The AI is horrible and predictable but, compared to some kinds of people you meet online, a silent opponent is much better company.
The worst thing about the game: the mana bases for any of the multi-color decks. For example, Fire & Ice plays both Counterspell and Ball Lightning. |

| I managed to make Stasis + the old lox gatekeeper...I beat two temple bosses using Icy Manipulator + Psychic Venom...good times...with the blue enchantment that says bury all artifacts unless the controller pays 2, they will always pay, and end up killing themselves :p Load your deck with Psionic Blast and Mishra's Factory and you're set |

| The challenge with DotP is to beat the computer without making it screw itself. |
