Asylum Rants - Policies
I figure I'd list my 10 policies.
1) I dont takes sides, All though I probably do have a personnal opinion on the topics I rant about, I refuse to take sides.
2) I only state self proclaimed facts. This mean 2 things. One it means that I research every topic before I rant, giving only facts. Two, I dont guarentee any of these facts are true. Nowadays its too hard to tell whats true and not, So I refuse to take blame for posting false facts on accident. Just tell me what my mistake was and I most likely will edit it immediantly.
3. I refuse to have anything to do with any rants that arent posted by me. I cant stop somebody from posting a fake rant. But I can deny anything to do with it.
4. I do not rant about anything non-league or magicthegathering related.
5. I do not speak for anybody but myself. I can guess what other would think, but I dont speak for anyone else. Also note that I am not a judge or a member of the league's staff. They're opinons and mine have nothing to do with each other.
6. I only post on Magic-League forums. I do this for a reason. All of my rants are league or magic related, so where can you possible think of a better sopt to rant at?
7. I in no way will EVER condone cheating. I say this only because of my first rant. I dont know the topics of future rants so I might as well make it clear that I dont supprot cheating.
8. I make fun of only myself. I am an idiot, etc.
9. I do not take responsibility for any posts that arent my own
If my topic brings a fight up, thats not my fault.
10. I rant because I want to.I rant because its fun. Flame if you will.

Asylum Rants are Back

Oh yea...I'm psyched...being how its been 3 months from my ast Asylum Rant...and personally I missed it. But new forums mean all my old ones were erased(lucky I have them saved)..

So why not reopen the greatest column since Common Sense?

The Basic Facts
I don't know about you, but I'm tired of people not reading the cards when playing. I just started playing Extended...I know almost nothing about it....yet I won a post extended mini yesterday and am in r2 of one as we speak. You know how?
I read the bloody cards my oppenent used.

Too many players lose from common mistakes. Just a little while ago I beat a guy cause he thought Damping Matrix nulled out COP: Red. See thats a simple mistake....it says on the card:

a static ability is this
:Static Ability: Static abilities do something all the time rather than being played at specific times. Static abilities create continuous effects, which are active as long as the permanent with the ability remains in play and has the ability, or as long as the object with the ability remains in the appropriate zone. A spell or ability can also create a continuous effect that doesn't depend on a permanent; these may last a specified length of time or for the rest of the game. See rule 412, "Handling Static Abilities."

a triggered ability is just what it says, it is triggered by a cirtain event such as going to the graveyard or comming into play

now that i got that out of the way i agree with your point, people do need to read thier own

I have to agree with Craze on the issue of people not reading the cards they play with. One instance is when I was playing re-animator and had a Phantom Nishoba in play and attacking. My opponent blocked with Shivan Wurm and then I put damage on the stack, killing his wurm and taking a counter from my Nishoba. The dude was hitting me up with "??" all over the place, and telling me my Nishoba was supposed to be dead. I told him to read the card. He didn't, apparently, because he obliously wasn't aware that all I had to do was prevent the damage by removing one counter. In the end I just got the usual "Player Lost" and moved on. The point is, IMO there are too many people who play the game without knowing how to play the game. That includes reading the cards. What I really love is the people who get the lists from wherever, throw them together, and then play them. When they lose they don't understand how that possibly could have happened, as it was a tier 1 list. What most people fail to realize, is that it's the PLAYER, not the deck, that makes the deck work. It's like buying the top of the line Motorbike. If you don't have any hands, you can't ride it right.
