Back with another 4-3-2-2 end up with a totally absurd Ub deck apprently no one still likes blue which is fine by me as i love it.

Event #: 991813

Time: 2/27/2010 8:30:27 PM
Players:
silee
Sacha Revised
--> ElementalMox
Pishaugh
patinouche
UncleNozem
AMagicianNamedGob
Hackage

------ ZEN ------

Pack 1 pick 1:
Hedron Scrabbler
Ior Ruin Expedition
Ondu Cleric
Turntimber Basilisk
Vampire Lacerator
Goblin Bushwhacker
Quest for the Holy Relic
Forest
Lethargy Trap
Seismic Shudder
Trapmaker's Snare
Kor Hookmaster
Territorial Baloth
Blood Seeker
--> Sphinx of Jwar Isle

It cost's alot but its an outright bomber and as good as kor hookmaster is the only other half decent option and even with the speed of this format im still taking sphinx

Pack 1 pick 2:
Burst Lightning
Punishing Fire
Windrider Eel
Guul Draz Vampire
Goblin War Paint
Mold Shambler
Makindi Shieldmate
Carnage Altar
Mountain
Giant Scorpion
--> Marsh Casualties
Adventuring Gear
Tanglesap
Cliff Threader

Rare missing, marsh casulties, punishing fire, burstlightning, all significantly better than windrider eel, casulties is just a total blow out though wiping whole armies out in one foul swoop awsome.

Pack 1 pick 3:
Mire Blight
Zendikar Farguide
Goblin Ruinblaster
Island
Baloth Cage Trap
Magma Rift
--> Hideous End
Emeria, the Sky Ruin (FOIL)
Khalni Heart Expedition
Into the Roil
Molten Ravager
Stonework Puma
Feast of Blood

Once agin this is by someway the best card

Pack 1 pick 4:
Pillarfield Ox
Summoning Trap
Hagra Diabolist
Timbermaw Larva
Lethargy Trap
Nissa's Chosen
--> Punishing Fire
Sky Ruin Drake
Mountain
Explorer's Scope
Narrow Escape
Desecrated Earth

A bunch of mediocre cards and a punishing fire, the fire is clearly the pick

Pack 1 pick 5:
--> Crypt Ripper
Tuktuk Grunts
Ior Ruin Expedition
Into the Roil
Cobra Trap
Seascape Aerialist
Ruinous Minotaur
Bold Defense
Forest
Steppe Lynx
Piranha Marsh

We are looking heavy black at this point, so the ripper is a nice addition to our pool, late lynx in pack

Pack 1 pick 6:
Turntimber Grove
Mountain
Harrow
Caravan Hurda
Tanglesap
--> Vampire Lacerator
Makindi Shieldmate
Kor Cartographer
Lullmage Mentor
Kraken Hatchling

I do not like this guy, a 2/2 with a draw back reserved for giant fatties of old when creatures were crapper is plain bad theres no two ways about it, yet he has his place in aggresive decks still.

Pack 1 pick 7:
Beast Hunt
Zendikar Farguide
--> Stonework Puma
Slaughter Cry
Ruinous Minotaur
Quest for the Holy Relic
Cancel
Bog Tatters
Plains

Usefull if we pick up any nice allies or have to block something with fear.

Pack 1 pick 8:
Mountain
Territorial Baloth
Kor Sanctifiers
Expedition Map
--> Kraken Hatchling
Narrow Escape
Goblin War Paint
Spire Barrage

We could still be blue and this is a solid dude in blue decks

Pack 1 pick 9:
--> Hedron Scrabbler
Ior Ruin Expedition
Quest for the Holy Relic
Forest
Lethargy Trap
Seismic Shudder
Trapmaker's Snare

Pack 1 pick 10:
--> Windrider Eel
Guul Draz Vampire
Goblin War Paint
Mold Shambler
Carnage Altar
Mountain

Erm what this was the best blue card in that pack, quite a few shitty cards have been taken over this pretty good card, maybe we are blue.

Pack 1 pick 11:
Mire Blight
Island
Khalni Heart Expedition
--> Into the Roil
Molten Ravager

This kind of confirms that no one at the table is blue

Pack 1 pick 12:
Lethargy Trap
--> Sky Ruin Drake
Mountain
Explorer's Scope

Much the same

Pack 1 pick 13:
--> Ior Ruin Expedition
Bold Defense
Forest

Pack 1 pick 14:
Mountain
--> Caravan Hurda

Pack 1 pick 15:
--> Plains

------ ZEN ------

Pack 2 pick 1:
Relic Crush
Reckless Scholar
Hagra Crocodile
Zendikar Farguide
Demolish
Baloth Woodcrasher
Zektar Shrine Expedition
Nimbus Wings
--> Akoum Refuge
Kabira Crossroads
Shepherd of the Lost
Vampire's Bite
Island
Teetering Peaks
Sadistic Sacrament

Disappointing pack was tempted to rare draft the sacrament not even sure howmuch its worth imagine very little, may be able to splash punising fire with refuge

Pack 2 pick 2:
Cliff Threader
Turntimber Grove
Landbind Ritual
Primal Bellow
--> Windrider Eel
Desecrated Earth
Narrow Escape
Beastmaster Ascension
Kabira Crossroads
Mold Shambler
Murasa Pyromancer
Caller of Gales
Teetering Peaks
Swamp

Maybe I should have hated something instead if pack 1 was anything to go buy it will wheel out of this pack

Pack 2 pick 3:
Spell Pierce
Into the Roil
Kazandu Blademaster
Bold Defense
Noble Vestige
--> Living Tsunami
Vines of Vastwood
Pyromancer Ascension
Nimbus Wings
Tempest Owl
Mindless Null
Seascape Aerialist
Swamp

Absoluete house of a card and landfall enabler, easy pick

Pack 2 pick 4:
Khalni Heart Expedition
Spidersilk Net
Soul Stair Expedition
Eternity Vessel
Molten Ravager
--> Welkin Tern
Tempest Owl
Frontier Guide
Crypt Ripper
Magma Rift
Island
Mire Blight

The essential 2 drop of blue for zendikar

Pack 2 pick 5:
Mold Shambler
Savage Silhouette
Spidersilk Net
Khalni Gem
Pitfall Trap
Plains
Kabira Crossroads
--> Welkin Tern
Kazandu Refuge
Reckless Scholar
Heartstabber Mosquito

Though the mosquito is so much more powerfull the speed of this format dicatates i take the tern

Pack 2 pick 6:
Relic Crush
Windborne Charge
--> Welkin Tern
Spell Pierce
Sejiri Refuge
Island
Demolish
Territorial Baloth
Ravenous Trap
Kor Outfitter

3 in a row woot! and thats exactly what im going to do to this draft

Pack 2 pick 7:
Vastwood Gorger
Vampire's Bite
--> Akoum Refuge
Trapfinder's Trick
Khalni Heart Expedition
Plains
Zendikar Farguide
Reckless Scholar
Cosi's Trickster

2 of these make splashing the punishing fire an option

Pack 2 pick 8:
Island
Demolish
Needlebite Trap
Whiplash Trap
Noble Vestige
Cancel
--> Merfolk Seastalkers
Beast Hunt

More confirmation of just how underdrated blue is at table

Pack 2 pick 9:
Relic Crush
--> Reckless Scholar
Hagra Crocodile
Zendikar Farguide
Demolish
Kabira Crossroads
Island

I still like looters there still good at winning late games and digging you out of holes.

Pack 2 pick 10:
Landbind Ritual
Desecrated Earth
Narrow Escape
--> Kabira Crossroads
Caller of Gales
Swamp

Pack 2 pick 11:
Spell Pierce
--> Into the Roil
Noble Vestige
Tempest Owl
Swamp

Yeah so I am the only blue drafter nice

Pack 2 pick 12:
--> Khalni Heart Expedition
Tempest Owl
Island
Mire Blight

Pack 2 pick 13:
Plains
Kabira Crossroads
--> Reckless Scholar

Pack 2 pick 14:
--> Spell Pierce
Island

Pack 2 pick 15:
--> Trapfinder's Trick

------ WWK ------

Pack 3 pick 1:
Brink of Disaster
Iona's Judgment
Akoum Battlesinger
Hedron Rover
Voyager Drake
Bojuka Brigand
Searing Blaze
Feral Contest
Quest for the Goblin Lord
Enclave Elite
Guardian Zendikon
Halimar Excavator
Bloodhusk Ritualist
--> Raging Ravine
Island

Rare draft

Pack 3 pick 2:
Pilgrim's Eye
Corrupted Zendikon
Nature's Claim
Slingbow Trap
Kitesail Apprentice
Summit Apes
--> Tideforce Elemental
Quag Vampires
Skitter of Lizards
Calcite Snapper
Seer's Sundial
Forest
Cosi's Ravager
Twitch

This is a little stronger than the pilgrims eye which is really strong in a format full of landfall.

Pack 3 pick 3:
Calcite Snapper
Apex Hawks
Snapping Creeper
Smother
Claws of Valakut
Sejiri Steppe
Vastwood Zendikon
--> Tomb Hex
Grotag Thrasher
Halimar Excavator
Veteran's Reflexes
Ruin Ghost
Swamp

Just feels like it kills more creatures mine included

Pack 3 pick 4:
Bojuka Bog
Skitter of Lizards
Treasure Hunt
Tectonic Edge
Marsh Threader
Wind Zendikon
Bull Rush
Pulse Tracker
Island
Walking Atlas
--> Vapor Snare
Quicksand

This card can be a total blow out, nothing anywhere near as good in pack

Pack 3 pick 5:
Vastwood Zendikon
Spell Contortion
Pulse Tracker
Island
Halimar Excavator
Slingbow Trap
Sejiri Steppe
Calcite Snapper
--> Tomb Hex
Grotag Thrasher
Cunning Sparkmage

More removal, maybe i should have took the smother, sparkmage is not a card my deck really wants to see and im not happy passing it, I could also splash it but overall felt the hex was slightly better

Pack 3 pick 6:
--> Mysteries of the Deep
Voyager Drake
Hedron Rover
Caustic Crawler
Plains
Claws of Valakut
Wind Zendikon
Dead Reckoning
Corrupted Zendikon
Shoreline Salvager

Wanted to see one of these format is still flast but a little slower and more balanced i think and drawing 3 cards is full of win.

Pack 3 pick 7:
--> Enclave Elite
Quicksand
Mountain
Smoldering Spires
Dread Statuary
Claws of Valakut
Twitch
Brink of Disaster
Marsh Threader

Do not think anyone else is blue at the table so not very exciting but its a 3 drop and all

Pack 3 pick 8:
Forest
Calcite Snapper
Grotag Thrasher (FOIL)
Pulse Tracker
--> Tomb Hex
Grotag Thrasher
Halimar Excavator
Ricochet Trap

Wow very late hex would def have prefered 2 hex and smother to 3 hex had i known with leatherback baloth around

Pack 3 pick 9:
Brink of Disaster
Akoum Battlesinger
Feral Contest
Quest for the Goblin Lord
--> Enclave Elite
Halimar Excavator
Island

Pack 3 pick 10:
Corrupted Zendikon
Nature's Claim
--> Calcite Snapper
Forest
Cosi's Ravager
Twitch

Not surprising when no one is blue

Pack 3 pick 11:
--> Calcite Snapper
Claws of Valakut
Sejiri Steppe
Grotag Thrasher
Swamp

Dito

Pack 3 pick 12:
--> Bojuka Bog
Bull Rush
Pulse Tracker
Island

Pack 3 pick 13:
--> Pulse Tracker
Island
Sejiri Steppe

Pack 3 pick 14:
Plains
--> Claws of Valakut

Pack 3 pick 15:
--> Mountain

1 kraken hatchling
1 marsh casulties
2 into the roil
1 punishing fire
3 welkin tern
1 hideous end
3 tomb hex
1 calcite snapper
1 reckless scholar
1 tideforce elemental
1 living tsunami
1 merfolk sea stalkers
2 windrider eel
1 mysteries of the deep
1 vapor snare
1 sphinx of the jwar isle
12 island
2 akoum refuge
4 swamp

I was the only blue drafter at the table, some of the decks were plain awfull, 3-0.

Feedback appreciated.

more proof that 4322s are full of terrible players. You'd better be 3-0ing every 4322 you do.

At the end of the day this one was quite bad, but clearly no one can 3-0 every tourni they enter no matter how good they are.

8-4 can be just as bad as well, there are plenty of terrible players who play 8-4 because they think it makes them better it doesnt anyone can join either there still just as bad or good (in rare cases) regardless of what they play.

Only difference with 8-4 is your handing money to the less than 1% of sharks that are able to consistantly able make thousands playing them. I do not want to compete with those people and have no intention of giving my money to them.

I do like to get better as a player but my main aim is to have fun at a cheap price, 4-3-2-2 serves thoose needs.
