Elvish Piper seems terrible. Maybe if the deck played something very expensive like godsire but now...

Heh, I used to use Godsire... just wasnt worth it.

Elvish Piper seems bad, but it wins. It works really well by dropping an uncounterable creature (ie realm or cloudthresher). I got sick of counter spells so i threw it in.

As i said in trial thread the mana base can not afford to run muta vaults and does not really need them as good as they are.

My version also has Chameleon colossus. I think it is still really strong card. Should find spot.
I also had one Ranger of Eos (random tech) which is really good in late game. Almost better than everything.

I think that Ranger of Eos could prove more valuable than Garruk, and that the deck needs more instants - but I have neither played with nor against it, and I haven't seen the deck in action so what do I know?

The base of the deck are big creatures early in play. To achive that you dont have much space for more instants. You really just need magma spray for mostly finks and naya charm for tap all win or destroy something annoying.

I think I'll take your advice on that.

Ranger of Eos would only be good for figure and bop, hardly worth trading for the power of Garruk.

i have been playing this deck and it's worst match ups are the quicker deck and it almost always loses to elf ball.

i have been running 3 pyroclasm in the sideboard and it really helped with that match-up

Cool:). I would probably go for a fourth brushlands and a firelit thicket, if I was you though as your removing the vaults maybe wooded bastion would be just as good, just a matter of if you think the lifeloss or potential more mulls is worse.

Never had a problem against elf decks. My only real worry is counter dependent decks.

As for land, woodland and jungle shrine are replacing it.

Oh god, I wish it was power 1 or less. That would make a lot more sense Razz

Piper never was or never will be ridiculous.
Its a 1/1 for 4 mana, in 90% of constructed events it will not survive long enough to be usefull
