It was always Naya, You just added worse cards to it. The idea of the deck was to make all your opponents creature removal dead.
Cut all the creatures, and add Fertile Ground.
Basically just put it back to the way it used to be

A 2WW creature doesn't stall vs aggro.

Ask him to try Kitchen Finks.
