|
|
Here's a list I built recently, it's a Blue/Green Control type of deck with blue control elements and good green creatures. I mainly built this deck to battle my meta of Faeries, RDW, and Green/X decks running Chameleon Colossus. Anyway, I'll post the list here in a second, but I was wondering if anyone thinks that Blue/Green can be competitive in the current environment. I really like the idea of a deck with a core built around Flooded Grove/Chameleon Colossus/Cryptic Command. Anyway, any feedback on the deck would be nice, I still need help beating Faeries more consistently. I've thought about replacing the Pact with Squall Line, but the Pact has been really good. Any opinions about the U/G archetype is appreciated too. Here's what I have so far:
Blue/Green Control
Lands
4 [10E] Treetop Village
5 [CS] Snow-Covered Island
4 [CS] Snow-Covered Forest
4 [EVE] Flooded Grove
4 [10E] Yavimaya Coast
3 [SHM] Reflecting Pool
Creatures
1 [TSP] Teferi, Mage of Zhalfir
3 [LRW] Cloudthresher
3 [PLC] Aeon Chronicler
4 [TSB] Wall of Roots
2 [FUT] Venser, Shaper Savant
1 [SHM] Oona, Queen of the Fae
4 [MOR] Chameleon Colossus
Spells
3 [PLC] Harmonize
3 [LRW] Primal Command
4 [LRW] Cryptic Command
4 [TSP] Ancestral Vision
4 [CS] Rune Snag
Sideboard
SB: 3 [EVE] Snakeform
SB: 3 [LRW] Sower of Temptation
SB: 4 [SHM] Kitchen Finks
SB: 3 [TSP] Krosan Grip
SB: 2 [FUT] Pact of Negation |

| Dude, just look at Shaheen Soorani's decklist from the T8 at US nats. It uses the best green creatures (CC, Thresher, goyf) and Teferi. along with blue control and vision. OBv it can be competative, it made top8. |

| Shaheens deck looks nice. I'd reccommend that deck w/ Wall of roots rather than rampant growth. |

UG can be good just a mix of cards that would help you more
Firespout is a must have. mass removal
Garruk is just 4 mana Call of the herd x 3
briarhorn hidden dragon.. 4 mana for a 6/6 blocker that swings for 3 w/ flash.
cloudthresher. this is never less than 2 of in any green deck.
Primal command this baby is the card you always want to topdeck in topdeck modes.
Drop the Refelcting pools for vivid grove/Creek
Countering is
Mystic Snake...
Remove soul..
*only 8 counters not really feeling that control element
Tested only 3 games so far. but seems to work.

| Once again, look at Sarheen's list. Briarhorn?? Really? Jesus... His list is focused, and efficient. |

| I don't like overbeing over aeon chronicler. For the same cost you're guaranteed a card and it can attack when it comes into play. |

| Overbeing is tried and tested. Not good at all. I won one game with it and that was because it survived one turn and then I played another- I had it survive another time as well, but then it did nothing. It is better with Teferi of course, but so is Aeon Chronicler. |

| Yeah, use ancestral vision if you want card draw. stick to the best green creatures and possibly Teferi. |

| Yes it does. Four copies of Firespout will take care of him just fine. He makes red easier to get, ya know.... |

| Lol sorry, I changed the deck in MWS and didn't post an updated list. The mana base & decklist has been changed to include red for Firespout & Murderous Redcap is in the board now as well. I'll post the updated list later. |
