Why only three demigod? I mean seems like he is most effective at 4.

crib swap seems like it might like to be played in this deck, to deal with colossus and oversoul of dusk plus its re-usable via haakon

play 3 or 4 flagstones of trokair, and 4 Fetid Heath (the new BW land).

Turn 1 flagstones Turn 2 fetid heath ---> smallpox sounds like a solid plan. You discard evershrike or Haakon and dont lose a land, while opponent is probably screwed.

Replace the random divinty of pride with 4th demigod, you really want to draw a 2nd one after discarding first one.

crib swap sounds like a plan - probably instead of the edict.

A massremoval might be good instead of a targeted one because you can replay most of your guys anyway.

And the most important part: I didnt test this, but you probably need a way to find evershrike and the auras, because you cant win a long game.

The card says "xB/W: Return Evershrike from your graveyard to play. You may put an aura card with converted mana cost X or less from your hand into play attached to it. If you don't, remove Evershrike from the game."

The two instances are part of the same activated ability. The opponent can respond to it before it resolves, and after it is in play and you have handed over priority.

thanks for the explanation vedr. its actually x(b/w)(b/w) unless i have a bogus patch. anyways, that makes evershrike pretty strong. cant be terrored, shriekmawed, slaughter pacted, nameless inversioned, incinerated, etcetcetc.

i guess unmake is goign to see alot of play because thats about the onl;y realistic answer to it if you can get him out early game

That, or Extirpate, Faerie Macabre, Withered Wretch, Tormod's Crypt, Pithing Needle (?), Yxilid Jailer Wink, Venser, Riftwing Cloudskate, Boomerang, Cryptic Command, Condemn, Crib Swap, Oblivion Ring, Temporal Isolation, Flame Javelin, Goldmeadow Harrier or any other tapper, discarding the aura from hand (thoughtseize, mind shatter etc), killing the aura and block it (krosan grip, disenchant) plus a myriad other ways of dealing with the creature, the aura or playing around it even though you have it in play.

But it is still a strong creature. The question is if it is good enough to outweigh the sad fact that you need 6+ auras in the deck and ways to get Evershrike into your graveyard other than playing it and hoping it will get killed.

So far it doesn't seem so.

3/4 of those cards are never or rarely in competitive decks, and the ones that are if you EOT evershrike you still get a hit in for 4 with lifelink or 7 without before they o ring it etc.

i think its a great card. i might marry it infact.
