I limited myself to Ravnica block with Shadowmoor because I figured it'd be a hoot. The priority for my card choices was determined first by whether or not it had green and white in the cost, and second by how good i remember it being. it's a smashy deck. i can't really post results on what it performed well against, but it's got big guys and good cards and stuff. like a deck.
4 Birds of Paradise
4 Loxodon Hierarch
4 Kitchen Finks
4 Watchwolf
4 Wilt-Leaf Liege
3 Wilt-Leaf Cavaliers
2 Oversoul of Dusk
2 Tolsimir Wolfblood
1 Rhys the Redeemed
1 Seedcradle Witch
3 Shield of the Oversoul
3 Congregation at Dawn
3 Glare of Subdual
6 Forest
5 Plains
4 Vitu-Ghazi, the City-Tree
4 Temple Garden
3 Wooded Bastion
i guess birds is the least casual aspect of this deck. otherwise it's just a bloodfest spectacular.
did anyone else ever use congregation at dawn? i used two in a rav era standard GBW Dimir House Guard deck. and of course i would always stack three hierarchs. that is unless, of course, i already played some. in which case i would take advantage of the "Up To three" part of the card. no hierarchs, no business. but now i have kitchen stinks riding on the back of my elephant friends.
i played a casual red deck, which wasn't casual because it was all burn. good burn. the life gain guys are very disheartening for the aggressive red player. especially when congregation at dawn gives you the likelihood of casting 5 of the lifegain dudes throughout the game.
man they're good.
shield of the oversoul works everywhere. even on the oversoul.
the deck isn't as engineered towards glare of subdual as it could be, but it's casual, and it's fun to lay down varied powerful cards.
at first i had 2 selesnya guildmage in there, but i broke it down to 1 Seedcradle Witch and 1 Rhys the Redeemed because my deck didn't have enough words in it.
any GW gems from Rav block or Shadowmoor that i'm missing? i'll even use bad cards. |

| Wolfsblood is by far the weakest card in the deck and what you should look at replacing with something better. |

| As far as bad cards go in GW you could always go priviledged position lol |

I'm happy with Tolismir in there. He's a second Liege, makes a wolf, and that way I have two different Wolf outlets. These are important for a casual deck because wolves are cool. Selesnya Guildmage is good, for sure, but we got into some beef recently and we haven't spoken since.
I'd like to put your mother into a Priviledged Position. Though it is another okay card I'd forgotten, and an OKAY card with G/W in the cost is an EXCELLENT card in my deck. so word.
i'm thinking about cutting the birds for some different 1drops. it's good, but it's just green, and i don't like that. it earned some points being able to produce white, but birds isn't fooling anyone. he just makes the deck too good for the kitchen table. |
