trouble connecting via IP

hi sorry if this has been asked already but i'm really having trouble at this. how do i play online with this? me and my friend followed the guide on how to connect online. i entered his ip and called him and he waited and vice versa but we can't connect with each other. also tried disabling our firewall but still didn't worked. i've read somewhere here that we need to install hamachi, is there any other way other than installing hamachi? thanks! btw, we're using Apprentice

I'll say to you what I say to everyone else:

Forget Apprentice. Download Magic Workstation.

Sure its harder to learn than Apprentice, but when you get the hang of it, you'll see that its much better and cooler to play with. And you don't need that pesky "hamachi" to play with your friend. Mr. Green

only gripe is.. why is it not free? Sad

i only downloaded the free version.

The unregistered version of mws full fundtionality. The ony difference when you pay for mws is the delay screen, some analysing tools, and the goldfishing with 2 different decks.

I actually payed or MWS ages ago this is and all it did was make it crash so i went back too an unregistered version and it worked fine.
