Column 1 main deck / Column 2 Side
First game control with a GW manaramp.
2cc drop to speed your mana curve (Mind Stone or Edge of Autumn).
After using Wrath of God to make the board clean (your small creatures have persist) then use your creatures and Mystic as a finisher.
Card advantage is important with 4 Harmonize, Oblivion take care of Bitterblossom and things like that. Persist creatures help to resist and Kitchen give you life against RDW.
If needed, after side, you can add all Elf stuff (15 cards) to make the deck full aggro. This way you can surprise and rush Combo or Controls decks.

I must point out that if you lose the first game, a complete turnover the next game would probably surprise the opponent ftw. But then there is the 3rd game and what will you then? Fake more sideboarding and continue with aggro, or go more control since he will put his anti-aggro in again (but not out all anticontrol)? You got a 50/50% chance of hitting spot on. On the other hand, 15 aggro cards in a control deck sideboard doesn't make a good aggro deck.
But if you win game 1, the opponent will side in his anti-control cards as always - is it then a good idea to turnover? It is unlikely that he change more than 5 cards in the deck, so his is basically the same. Your control game cannot be better game 2 and 3 than it is game 1, and your aggro game cannot be better game 3 than it is game 2.
The question is whether or not the surprise factor is worth the suboptimality.
I think it isn't, and that you would do better to balance the maindeck so that it is aggro-control, and then have options to go both more aggro and more control in the sideboard. |
