4 Null Profusion
4 Grinning Ignus
4 Rite of Flame
2 Coldsteel Heart
3 Storm Entity
3 Grapeshot
2 Empty the Warrens
3 Fiery Temper
3 Skred
2 Premature Burial
2 Assassinate
2 Pyrohemia
3 Prodigal Pyromancer
13 Snow-Covered Mountains
10 Snow-Covered Swamps
This is a casual deck, obviously (no sideboard), and is built with inexpensive cards in mind. But here's how it works:
You want one or two Rite of Flames in the beginning and a Coldsteel Heart- Null Profusion makes this deck. Once you have it, Grinning Ignus is an engine- R: Draw a card. Granted, you have to discard, but you've got extra null profusions to throw away and a small amount of madness if you're lucky.
If you're overrun with creatures, you can bounce the Ignus and clear them out with Pyrohemia. If it's a huge attacker, you can hit them with assassinate or skred.
Your kill is to storm them by bouncing the Ignus and using Rite of Flame(s).
I think Premature burial needs to be replaced by something with madness, but I'm too lazy to look for something within budget.
Now tell me why this sucks. |

If you say so.
A card with the potential of null profusion should be used as a combo for a 1-turn kill.
So you should have more tutor-y cards to get out necessary pieces (profusion + lots of rituals + possibly swath) and once you drop the profusion you win on that turn or the very next turn, as like i said, used as an integral part of a combo, not a janky little draw engine. I would take out all your removal spells and play more ritual type cards and pyromancer's swath + grapeshot. similar to chapin, nassif and heezy's Dstorm deck from worlds |

| If it's so amazing, why does it sell for 35 cents? And Pyromancer's Swath is probably the worst card in the world to pair with Null Profusion, seeing as you forfeit your ability to play cards in exchange for a boost when you play cards. |

Better players than you have tried to break Null Profusion. Give it the hell up, the card sucks.
And I don't believe anyone said Swath was "amazing" in that post. :\
At least, I read it 4 times and didn't see the word. Could just be me though. |

No no, I meant Null Profusion. He was talking like it could win on turn 1. I understand it isn't a very good card- this deck is in the casual section for a reason. I have very little money and don't really intend to play competitively; I just want some feedback. |

He didn't say Turn 1. He said in one turn. As in you drop it and combo out. Not drop it and a couple turns later combo out. In which case I would completely agree with him. If you drop it and don't combo out, don't expect to any time soon. I would also go with his advice and play cards like Dark Ritual and Cabal Ritual (and the above mentioned Manamorphose) as mana accelerants and storm boosters. But then again I would drop the Null Profusion all together, play some tutors in its place. A couple more mana accelerants, and just use Tendrils of Agony. |

I ave null profusion combo based deck that tendrils for the win, more fun with mono black, uses -
4x gauntet of power
4x cabal ritual
3x spellbook - play after the profusion to take over the hand size rule
4x blood pet
3x tendrils of agony - kill
1x consume spirit- cases where u have a load of black mana
3x tendrils of corruption - life gain / creature control
4x skeletal scrying - awsome w/ profusion, + good card draw
4x null profusion
x swamp
basically it, hope this helps, only other idea is pairing it with green so u can play cards like summer bloom or whateer the card is that lets u play 3 additional lands, that way u dont get stuck drawing all land and having no more draw |
