check out the 2nd place deck |
A) 2-0 in a Mini doesn't really determine playability.
B) Look at his matchups. A mono green (small splash of white), and a bad Faerie list.
I think the Swans itself is a good card, but I don't like this combo. An Extirpate (split second), Pithing Needle (assault), or even a Wheel of Sun and Moon shut the deck down. Without the combo, I didn't see the deck do too much. I played a couple matches against it, and the only time I lost was when he was able to combo out early without disruption. Which wasn't that often. |

1st: the mana is terrible, the deck just dies to faeries (best and most played deck) and it's too slow vs. MRA.
2nd: is it just me or ALL lists from that mini suck? =[ |

| A swan deck potentially has one huge tech option vs RDW: Pariah on swans. Think about it, RDW has no hard removal and burn spells will end up milling them to death. But, I don't see swans doing well against faeries unless it sticks a pyrohemia on the board. |

Everlasting Torment (black or red) stops the Swans. |

as far as resilient to hate... it is very much so. if u have the combo set up its almost impossible to disrupt because u can respond to their crypt/bounce/whatever by discarding another land and dredging from there.

| My friend and I tested this deck for about a day on MWS. I think our combined record was somewhere around 3-18. |

True, but i don't think anyone, at all, will be boarding for this deck, and the torment isnt a fantastic board card for other decks anyway. |

|
|
| It seems that if agro and creature control is the biggest issue for the deck "Turn to mist" would be a no brainer for the deck. blink attacking creatures and blink the swans to safety...of course you still have no answer for sudden death...but one card in the whole format with ability to screw you over is not a deck breaker...as far as the other potential things that could screw you...you have pithing needle...halo...oblivion ring...that enchantment that gives a player shroud...but there is a w/g kill all artifacts and enchantments card out there...and there are plenty of ways to get seismic assault back in this format...or better yet disenchant?. IMO wheel of sun and moon has potential to be main deck material not side board. Once the swans, seismic, and wheel are on the table you have the ability to tutor infinitely times for infinitely many things. of course you could argue that this further dilutes an already questionably consistent deck... |

Reading = Tech!!! It actually says "choose a card other than a basic land." |
