| In a short answer: no. Ponza doesn't have the cards at its disposal to be a fighting force right now. You need something to do turn 1 or turn 2 to disrupt their manabase. After that it's over.[/quote] |

| i was thinking green black turn one bird of paradise turn 2 rain of tears or fulminator mage. but even then the mage only hits non basic. but you could also go with poison the well, creeping mold or acid moss in the four drop slot. |

| Cryoclasm only hits Plains and Islands, but it saw a decent amount of play. I think revisiting the Babykiller type decks would be worth a shot, as you still have 8+ turn 1 acceleraters and 8 3 mana stone rains. |

| If your playing black, you can also use thoughtseize as a first turn disruption spell. |

exactly gypsy,
since long time landdestruction has been best against control decks, when facing aggro you need sweepers like earthquake, nevinyrral's disk or wildfire or good blockers like masticore or the likes.
When playing ld in a tempo/aggro deck, you play it as disruption after some critters, a bit like a timewalk. These decks (like extended RDW with 8 ld spells) are only good if they can outrun other aggro's with creatures or burn.
so ld with 12-16 antiland spells is not gonna work now, you could try the aggro variant but must be able to win g1 of rdw, elves or gr/gw decks.. |

Here's a list I've been toying around with for about a week now. I dunno how well you guys will like it but it seems to do the deed for me!!! So far my wins are about 65%, and obv my bad MU are Mana Ramp and RDW. I need some suggestions on how to tweak the deck so it's almost tolerable against those decks...

I see how you all think LD only beats control and loses to aggro, but thats where you have put some thinking into your decklist. Think outside the box of "I have to have turn 2, 3, 4 ld or its not LD". Too much LD makes the deck lose vs aggro or control. My friend has a deck that is based around LD, but he also has good game vs aggro. He changes the list constantly, so I don't know the exact list, but it looks something like:
Epochrasite x4
Fulminator Mage x4
Aven Riftwatcher x4
Avalanche Riders x4
Galepowder Mage x3
Reveillark x3
Momentary Blink x3
Turn to Mist x4
Incinerate x4
Wrath of God x3
Reflecting Pool x4
Battlefield Forgex4
Vivid Meadow x2
Vivid Crag x2
S.C. Plains x6
S.C. Mountain x6
SB-----------------
Wrath of God x1
Vexing Shusher x4
Cryoclasm x4
Disenchant x3
Pithing Needle x3
Note- This is just his basic list mixed with what I would do to it. I don't have any matchup analysis for it, but then again, its not all about statistics. Its about how you play it. And the choices you make. |

| I would have to say the best LD deck I ever ran was Mono red back in mirrodin block. Ravager was obviouslly the toast of the town and everyone who was anyone was playing ravager. Mono red ponza with 12 LD spells probably had on of the best matchups against it. Albeit cards like shatter and electrostatic bolt were around then it doesn't mean cards with those capabilites aren't around. Most LD decks are engineered to fight aggro decks. After your traditional LD, a few win conditions, maybe acceleration if you can find a good one, the rest should be for taking out aggro. That's how i would build it anyways. |

| If you really want land destruction, Armaggedon and Terravore are a few good options, as well as the obvious Dingus Egg and Stone Rain. I don't really use land-destruction decks, though. |
