I saw something in the rules section of mtgsalvation so here you go:
I guess its more casual, but i always wanted to break grind stone and finally theres a card that allows me to do it:
2
Painters Servant
When name comes into play choose a color.
All cards that arent in play, spells and permanents are the choosen color.
1/3
(sha)
1
Grindstone
3. T: Put the top to cards of target players library into his or her graveyard, if both cards share a color repeat this process.
I thought about putting it into a Mizzium Vault deck, as the wincondition(maybe 1 jitte if it gets disrupted anyhow), this of course would eat up a lot slots, but you should be able to combo of very consistently on turn 3.
What do you think, is the jhonny in me to excited or can it be done affectifly.
(of course you could also build a deck around the combo without mizzium vault, with aether vial maybe and trinket mage and stuff).
edit: I just found a thread on mtgsalvation about this combo:

I thinkthis deck could be really good this is how i would do it.
4 Grindstone
4 Painters Servant
4 Brainstorm
4 Ponder
4 Enlightened Tutor
4 Trinket Mage
1 Oblivion Ring
1 Pithing Needle
1 Meekstone
1 Engineered Exposives
4 Force of Will
4 Daze
3 Thirst for Knowledge
1 Seat of Synod
1 Ancient Den
4 Tundra
3 Flooded Strand
3 Polluted Delta
1 Academy Ruins
1 Plain
4 Island
3 Chrome Mox
Sb
4 Meddling Mage
2 Academy Ruins
1 Aether Spellbomb
4 Sun Beam Spellbomb
1 Tormrod Crypt
2 Swords to the Plowshares
1 Cop Red
Thinking about it i really dont think I like the chrome moxes i would play close attention to how good they are in testing. The curve doesnt seem to need the tempo boost and for a combo deck there are few redundant cards grindstone the most likely redundant card is an artifact. I really dont think it fits this deck though with out testing I could be wrong. Plus that along with force of will is not particullary good. If the moxes do turn out to be bad which I suspect they will be i would probably drop the thirsts for knowledge for ancestral visions, in my list. |
