| Just clarifying, but the chain deals 3 to the swan, you draw 3 and then discard 1 for the chain and restart the chain? |

| I think you have to discard a card to copy the spell before you draw the three cards. |

| I am not sure, but if it is a replacement effect you would draw cards first. As is I think you will need to discard first, still nets you lots of cards |

| I agree, based on the way the text for the Swans is worded, I don't think it is a replacement effect. |

As I read it (could be wrong):
1. You play Chain targetting Swans
2. Chain resolves, deals 3 damage (which is prevented), gives you the chance to discard
3. You discard, copy of Chain stacks
4. Swans' trigger stacks (first check for triggers since damage was dealt)
5. Swans' trigger resolves, you draw 3.
6. Copied Chain resolves, etc. |

| I think that your Step 4 happens before Step 3, the Swans trigger occurs when the damage is dealt. |

| ransom I believe cloysterd is correct. step 3 is not a trigger. It is a choice made during resolution. By chosing to discard a copy goes on the stack. Now that there is no spell resolving, swan trigger goes on the stack. In essence, choosing to discard is part of the resolution of chain of plasma. Afterwards a new copy of chain of plasma is placed on the stack and effects will be able to be resolved. |

| So then, you just need chain and 1 extra card in hand to draw out your whole deck. So in extended you could incorporate swan / chain into loam assault decks and draw out land and shooot with seismic . but, i dont think it would be that good. Must be some way, some deck that chain/swan will be good. im determined. lol. |

You in fact don't even need a card in your hand. Swans of Bryn Agroll has one big replacement effect. Also note that there is no choice involved, you have to draw.
If you target the Swans with Chain of Plasma, the Chain basically reads:
You draw three cards. Then that player or that creature's controller may discard a card. If the player does, he or she may copy this spell and may choose a new target for that copy. |
