This is just curiosity, but it might be handy. I know how to create different images from tokens based on their different power. Type a number after the name of the token, then when you create the token with a power equal to that number it comes with its relative image.

For example, if you have 2 different images for elemental tokens, one with 3 power and another with 5 power, type the relative number after the name (Elemental5, for example), and then you can get the right image for the right token! Very Happy

However, I was wondering if there is a trick that works the same way, but with colors? Does anybody know?

Use the same trick, just type the corresponding color letter (WUBRGCA) after the name of the token and save the image with the same name. It's not rocket science Razz

I actually didn't try it, I just figured it would work.

But let's say you create a token in MWS named, I don't know, Elemental3r (for that staff thingy from Darksteel). It would be a 3/3 red Elemental token. So you then fire up MSE and create a corresponding image. You must have a folder in your MWS Pics folder called TK (tokens) and save the image there. Make sure to call it Elemental3r.

I'll try it now and post back in a few minutes.

EDIT: So I tried making a token with the above characteristics and it worked for me. Here's a link to a screenshot. You have to make sure that you spell the name the same way in MWS and in your image file, otherwise MWS won't pick it up. Also, if you're using a full size image, make sure to name the image ~.full

I think what Lynolf is trying to do is get the right picture without junking up the names of the tokens in MWS. Using his example, if you have 2 pics of Elementals with 3 and 5 power, you just have to name them Elemental3.jpg and Elemental5.jpg. Then, when you create a token named Elemental in MWS with 3 power, it'll automatically pick up Elemental3.jpg.

I've experimented with ways to differentiate the images while keeping the in-game token name unchanged, but didn't find any method other than power. Incorporating toughness, color, and keywords didn't work with any naming tricks I could think of (concatenation, underscores, dots, hyphens, etc). If there is a way, I haven't stumbled on it, nor can I find any documentation for it.

What Thorns is suggesting is probably the simplest way to accomplish what you want. MWS will always look for an exact match of the token name, so if you uniquely identify each token in its image name (i.e. Elemental_31R vs Elemental_31RHaste), you can just name tokens in MWS to match, and ignore all the identifiers for gameplay purposes.

EDIT: Forgot to mention that if you name your pictures that way, you probably won't be able to view images for your opponents' tokens, and by naming your tokens that way, your opponents won't be able to load pictures for your tokens either.

The last guy is right. Oh well, if there isn't a method about color, I'll use one like yours Thorn when I have multiple tokens with the same power but different colors. Thanks to both for helping me (relatively Wink ).
