everything they said above is true, but you should also rent Elebits, and I would recommend purchasing Wii Play because it comes with a controller. The game itself is fun if you are a first time wii user, but like wii sports, the novelty wears off.
If you like sports, madden is especially fun on the Wii. |

The thing about the Wii is, you are pretty limited in terms of good software. Granted, the Wii is a fun spin on video games, I like my Wii and i like what Nintendo has done in order to keep video games moving forward. Fact is, Nintendo has done a shit job to promote their use of a technology that can be used for so many good things. Until then, you will have but a few games to hold you through. Most of which have already been named. Resident Evil 4 is pretty damn good on the Wii. Also as someone else mentioned, I suggest you make use of the virtual console. Street Fighter has always been my favorite but every gamer is Different. That, and if you happen to run into me during a match of Street Fighter I will make you cry to your mommy. Number 1 in the world baby! If you dont believe me you can check my standings here...
