Here I am again to discuss another great BOMB in Shadowmoor:

So, anyone feels the need to use Red Deck Wins? Wink

True that this T2 was missing a strong land destruction card, but OMG! Look at the power of this creature! A 2/2 creature for 3 mana that can destroy lands without the need to pay any expensive costs, will certainly have a lot of impact in Standard, Extended, and even Legacy. Shocked

In T2, I can certainly see this being played in response to the famous Mutavaults and Treetop Villages. Cool

So what do you guys think? Is this another broken card? Or will it be nothing special at all?

definitely a very solid card for black and red decks, and with hybrid mana, any 2c deck with R or B.
Its not broken by any means.
Its pretty much a flexible, but non-flexible stone rain as it can only hit nonbasics.
Pros:
-Can be played in most any Aggro/AC deck with either R or B
-Late game its a better draw than a regular LD as its got a body.
-Can double up and take down stupid Manlands. "Block your mutavaalt, sack and toast your little village amongst the trees"
-Can obviously, as an LD, be great against controll combo'd with discard and other elements.

Cons:
-Is pretty bad against aggro as its a 2/2 for 3
-If being splashed into a deck where R or B are the splash colors, the BB or RR will pinch the mana somewhat.
-Can be hit by more than just regular counterspells, stifle and such

Still overall, good, solid card. Definitely at least worth a couple looks and board spots for control mus.

I don't know about not being played in legacy. Dragon stompy may be able to squeak him in but who knows you could be right.

It MIGHT see play in t2. Molten rain and pillage are just better and so is cryoclasm. The point of the ld spells is to set the player back on tempo. The added damage associated with molten rain and cryoclasm make them playable. Pillage also adds flexibility. To be honest a 2/2 body turn 3 for an agro deck is not impressive and waiting untill it gets in a couple times to stone rain provides almost no tempo as they already hit land 4 or 5.

Turn 1 ape, turn 2 goyf, turn 3 molten rain is curve,
Turn 1 ape, turn 2 goyf, turn 3 mage... not so much.

But still, he is (in an non-affinity dominated meta I should say) a million times better topdeck than Pillage in the lategame. A Pillage that you draw on turn 6-ish is nest to dead in RDW. But this guy is still a grey ogre when LD is not relevant.

The card is good, however not astonishing.

Well the deck wouldnt have to be BWR, could just be RW LD that splashes for blink and card advantagey spells, basically a new spin on blink-riders
