I am not sure what kind of decks i build.
For around 2 years now, I build and build more
and more different decks to my last versions of Zur's Weirding. However, i use some ideas that I find in the iNet for my decks. But these decks are rogue, too !
Naoto Akita's Weirding Deck at GP Nagoya 04 used Guardian Idols, Talismane AND Moxen to speed up his game. He also used dfeath cloud as control element while my decks were totally aggro that time. With grinning demon, spiketail hatchling and bane of the living.
What I do not do, is to copy a full list and do 1-4 card exchanges and name the new deck my deck.
What I do is to copy a full list of a PT GP top deck to playtest with friends in rl. |

I am a rogue decker, but I wouldn't call myself a hardcore one. I build decks based on well-established priniciples that have worked in almost every block since I started playing 10 years ago. After I build my decks, I look at netdecks for ideas to tweak my own deck. Some of my decks don't work out (I tried a U/R Shard Pheonix recursion deck with 4 maindeck pyroclasms... but it was after the metagame had already shifted away from small aggro creatures), and some of them work out well (My own version of MUC now, and the last deck I played in a real life tournament, which got me 11th place out of 120 at the MD state championships).
I rarely try anything completely off the wall, but as long as you keep things like mana curve, card advantage, et cetera in mind, rogue decks have a shot. |

I am a hardcore rougue playa. EG's of my decks=
1. Shared Fate in mirrodin block (Apprentice simply wasn't built to take this card
2. Mists Of Stagnation in extended
3. RG aggro in current tp2
4. BG aggro also in current t2
Just to ask, if you create a new version of a current deck, is it netdecking? |

ummm....this is an ignorent post...
This is the ML forums. Ask any common person in #stfu, #magic-league, hell probably even #bored. And you'll get a little insight...No netdeckers really ever even read the forums. Sure theirs Dr.Moo and umm...Witness_Kebe.
But besides that notta.
Why? Because these forums are basically the home of made up decks. Rogue Deckers swarm here, like you EG, me, DL, and lots others. Look at the common posts in err t2. You find mostly new creative decks..this is rogue deckers in their best.
Another thing that is not said enough. Rogue Deckers are importent. Go on any T2 thread and You'll see me saying:
"That sucks" or...well pretty much just "That Sucks"
Now, don't get me wrong, I do think those decks suck, they don't stand a chance....but I applaud the people who make them. Cause eventually each of those people are gonna find a decent deck(or 90% of them will netdeck, and 9% will keep going and eventually sink their rating while never actually finding the good deck) And this is how netdecks are made.
Really in the long run even a hardcore netdecker is a little bit of a roguedecker. For he adds little twists and turns...designs sideboards and sees differently....sure these may be just slight changes...but its Magic, no one said you had to be very creative. |

so hardcore net-deckers dont read this stuff eh? who the H*** said that? lol anyway..
put my name down for hard-core netdecker. and yeah net-decking takes skill. i may change a card or two but thats it. i dont make my own deck, i take whats online and modify it with other decks online. i neither have the resources or time to strait up build a deck. and yeah skill. try picking up a deck you havent heard in legacy and try it in a tourney. a year ago i looked at 2 decks. FEB and ATS. FEB sounded cool but i liked ATS. it took me quite a while to test, learn, modify, and perfect playing the deck. 3 months actually. playing a game a day or less. now when i play it i have to show my opponent my logs so to prove im not cheating when i do insane tricks. for T1 i still like worldgorger dragon (its been awhile scence i played, havent seen the banned list for T1 in a while) its easier to net-deck for 2 reasons.
1> people have already done all the work for you, all you have to do is learn all the other decks too and how to play the metagame
2> instead of buying a **** ton of cards i just get a list and order them (if i have the money)
great thing about legacy.. i can work on a deck for a year and itll still see some good play. save up some money and buy a card or 2 a week for ATS while you learn it. then play at a local tourney. anyway i gotta go. LATERS. im not back yet. gimme a few weeks. |

build your own deck... buy it. You don't have to buy any extra cards. |

| if i "build my own deck" it would prolly be consistant of ATS. its proven to work and i think its fun to play. I'll play rouge decks, but other peoples rouge decks. people go hey i got this new deck. i ask to test it. i dont change anything at all. also i have soooo many useless cards cause i built my own decks. im trying to get rid of them all. i think there are about 1500 rares or so. then i got the good cards xD. laters |
