| No. 'Regeneration shields,' as they are called, can only be applied as a replacement effect when a creature either has lethal damage on it or a "destroy" effect targeting it. |

Just a quick point out on the "destroy" effect. You also have to watch out for the regeneration denial part. Some cards, like Damnation, destroy creatures but don't allow regeneration. |
