This would be a bit of a blast from the past for most of you... All the way back to Brian Selden winning worlds in 98?
Anyway

Here are my two questions:
Suppose I have grizzly bears and a recurring nightmare in play, and no creatures in my graveyard.
Just checking - am I correct in thinking that I cannot sacrifice the bears and return nightmare to my hand, and put the bears back into play using the nightmare ability?
But... can I still play the activated ability on recurring nightmare, putting bears into graveyard and nightmare to my hand, when I have no creatures in my graveyard? |

to activate the nightmare you need a target. nightmare can not be activated without a creature in the graveyard.
p.s. target yosei... i've pulled that off in my last 2 cube drafts and it's A+ good 
turn 3 win |

You need two target creatures, one for the sacrifice and one in the graveyard to target.

Anything that costs 2 or less that allows to sac a card.
(like Wild Mongrel or Merfolk Looter, during your 3rd turn upkeep.) |
