Why doesn't the burn deck play Bob? Everyone is always talking about it falling just short all the time simply because you don't have enough cards in hand to finish the job.......so here's what my friend has been playtesting and plans on taking to PTQ next weekend....thoughts and opinions are wanted.....

| best card in the deck? you must be talking about the marauders or the nexus, I presume..... Marauders almost always do 5 but he just hates the card.....Nexus he doesn't have but he does have genju which has been surprisingly good against anything not playing MR. Fantastic......It's his deck he just told me find out what everyone else said and if there was any way to improve it but he definately wants to keep the black cards in! |

Bob may be good, but you just can't cut Spark Elemental, Keldon Marauders AND Mogg Fanatic.
Actually, when you drop Confidant, your Opponent will always have some removal for him due to the lack of other creatures in that deck. He's dead. |

| If you want to play confidant you need to play a more creature heavy deck, similar to satanic sligh in T2 when ravnica was still legal. |

I don't know if you're familiar with the concept of virtual card advantage. Decks that run very few creatures theoretically gain some card advantage from the useless removal spells their opponents draw.
The flip side of this is that any creatures you DO play are almost certainly dead straight away. So by taking out a lot of the creatures (proportinally) and putting in a card that is both pretty easy to kill and a massive target, you're slowing down your clock and you're going to run out of steam even faster... |

If he almost always does 5, you're cutting one of the best cards in the deck over personal preference? |

Hmm, how about this?
Name Qty
Bloodstained Mire 4
Browbeat 3
Dark Confidant 4
Great Furnace 4
Grim Lavamancer 4
Incinerate 4
Keldon Marauders 4
Magma Jet 4
Mogg Fanatic 4
Mountain 9
Shard Volley 4
Shrapnel Blast 4
Spark Elemental 4
Swamp 1
Vault of Whispers 3
Lands: 21, Spells: 19, Crt: 20 60
More targets for removal so that they don't focus only on Confidant. Also I've always loved Browbeat. |

Hmm you guys have a point, the others are not really much worth targetting.
Although I do like the idea of this deck.
How about Slith Firewalker? That was always a staple back in the days of Tangle Wire, don't see why it wouldn't work now (?)
From my previous post --
Out -- Incinerate, Spark Elemental
In -- Slith Firewalker, Lava Blister
It seems like if you can get to play Lava Blister on turn 2 or 3 against ANY 1.x deck, you've just instantly swung for 30% of your opponent's life total... |
