First of all, I want to say "hi", since I'm new on these forums. So, hi everyone
This is a deck a friend of mine developed a long time ago. Haven't played much MTG since then, so it's kinda retro..
Lands:
20x Swamp
3x Unholy Grotto
Creatures:
4x Rotlung Reanimator
4x Cabal Archon
4x Festering Goblin
1x Scion of Darkness
4x Carrion Feeder
4x Dark Supplicant
4x Withered Wretch
Other:
3x Grave Pact
3x Oversold Cemetery
3x Smother
3x Dark Banishing
Sideboard:
4x Disciple of the Vault
1x Grave Pact
1x Smother
1x Dark Banishing
Since this deck is old, I'm looking for help in updating it a little. I could use some sideboard suggestions too, because ATM it's not a real sideboard.. only a few cards I tend to change once in a while.
As for results.. well, I have a lot of success against all sort of decks. Burn/aggro decks overrun me sometimes, though.
So, I'd be very grateful for all suggestions, as I'd like to improve my deck as much as possible. Thanks in advance. |

| Well I got to say that Smallpox+Rotlung is hot stuff. That would be a good start. Also Duress/Cabal Therapy/Thoughtsieze are almost must have in black decks. I would go with Cabal Therapy and Duress as you have a bad burn match. Splash white for Orzhov Pontif to kill off all of the small guys or even Damnation. Also you Bidding in the deck. I would play 4 smoother in the main and 2 Damnation. If you can make room then 4 Damnation and 2-3 Bidding would def up the power of the deck. The white splash would also give you a lot of hate cards that need for some matches. Like Disenchant, Kataki, and Morningtide. The white also give you some good anti control cards like Gerard's Verdict. |

note that disciple is banned in extended, dark banashing can probably be better. if you want to go the oversold cemetary route play 4x korlash.
Gerrard's verdict is MUCH better vs aggro than it is vs control, just so you know |

| Well let's just say that Verdict is GOOD vs a lot of decks. I still say that it really needs Bidding |

-4 Festering Goblin
-1 Carrion Feeder
-1 Dark Supplicant
-4 Withered Wretch
-1 Oversold Cementery
+7 Plains

+4 Orzhov Pontiff
Sideboard:
Removing everything, and..

Is it banned in Extended? I thought it isn't..

Entomb might be a very good idea, but I have no idea what should I replace, because everything seems important |

Their point is, all those cards are banned (Vial, Clamp, Entomb). As far as Clerics go, my take:
Cleric Bidding
All I can say is, that deck works really well. So yea, I'd at the very least play bidding and Chrome Mox. Also, I don't know if discard is such a great idea; the creatures are rather slow, so you want to spend your mana efficiently and spending mana to take out cards from hand is mana disadvantage and thus puts you behind on the board. |

Yeah Bidding is nice, especially with Carrion Feeder + Grave Pact. I've been thinking about Chrome Mox before.. but I'm not sure what should I replace. I'm also thinking about Mirror Entity.. N>some space
EDIT: Ok, did some testing with what I posted above. Results are very good. I think that, even though discard is kinda useless in this deck, Gerrard's Verdict is an exeption. I'm gonna keep it. There is absolutely no place to put in Chrome Mox, but with my current deck I am able to play with 3 lands =P So I'm pretty much happy with what I have, unless I discover something new. So, thanks for your help everyone. |
