| me and a friend are having a discussion. he says red akroma can't be countered because of it's proc, but i say it can because it doesn't get those protections till it's in play. who is right? |

Erhm, akroma says "Akroma can't be countered by spells or abilities"
Read is overrated
But still, you can Venser the Akroma. |

| It says blatantly on the card "Akroma, Angel of Fury can't be countered." It has nothing to do with its protection from blue/white. |

returning a spell to its owner's hand is not the same as countering it, so it can be vensered while it's on the stack. however, since remand counters a spell first then returns it if it's countered, red akroma can't be remanded.
venser>all |

| But you should still be able to target Akroma with Remand and draw card, right? |

| Sure, it's not an illegal target, the counter-effect just does nothing. |

| On the same general idea: What`s the difference between Obliterate's "can't be countered" and Urza's Rage's "can't be countered by spells or abilities"? What really confuses me is that they were both printed in the same set, so it's obviously not a templating issue. |

| and a good way to pay for that venser is to tap a vesuvan shapeshifter copying gemhide sliver and the actual gemhide sliver for 4 manas. |
