To keep things short...

The current sec. code goes like this:

Take the value of the card, multiply that by the amount of that card in that part of the deck (sb or md) and if it's md then multiply it by 2. Add that to the total and go to the next line.

All good, but you cant really compare sec. codes anymore after sideboarding. That is why i want to propose a new way of calculating a decks security code.

It goes like this:

Take the value of the card, multiply that by the total amount of that card in the entire deck (sb and md). Add that to the total and go to the next line. Then repeat this process for cards in sideboard only, but instead of adding it to the whole number, add it to the decimal part instead.

This way you get a code that looks like this:

12345.678
(all) (sb)

This means in game one, the 'all' code and the 'sb' code both need to match and after sideboarding, only the 'all' code needs to match, because that will only change when cards are introduced to / removed from the deck wich would be illegal.

Not that apprentice/mws/netdraft would implement this, but perhaps ML could add an 'OPT' sec code to the list Wink

Your thoughts?

the idea seems logical. However i think your right about mws and apprentice. I dont think they will change their outlook on the security code issues. I know that with mws if a security code is wrong ( awhile ago it could have been for a card your playing, With a name thats too long ) what kinda bullshit is that. I think if you can handle Security codes while not giving away the entire deck to the opp. you should go for it.

The problem is, Every card has a id number. Some people ( who have no lives ) take the time to make programs to see where the id number for each card is in their library. Im not saying you can cheat by looking at your opps deck, but you can surely see your own deck. If you can handle this problem with your method. I AM FOR IT
