I think if you are shooting for budget affinity, you can get a much more potent deck in centering it around red. Three cards you can use that are pretty cheap are Atog, Shrapnel Blast and Fatal Frenzy.

Here is a starting point off the top of my head:

4 Atog
4 Arcbound Worker
4 Frogmite
4 Myr Enforcer
4 Ornithopter
3 Ninja of Deep Hours

4 Thoughtcast
3 Shrapnel Blast (3x $1)
2 Fatal Frenzy (2x $.50)
4 Cranial Plating
4 Springleaf Drum
2 Chromatic Star

4 Seath of the Synod
4 Great Furnace
2 Darksteel Citadel
4 Blinkmoth Nexus (4x $5)
4 Vault of Whispers

In total thats only $24 of stuff plus a pile of commons and cheapo uncommons. This should get you a long way without having to go into needle/ravager territory. Nexus is definitely a must when using playing imo Smile

Seems like they still run 8-10 each or so, which isn't "cheap" but it is also nothing compared to goyf Wink

Frenzy Affinity and mono red burn are definitely the cheapest competitive decks in 1.x

even for a budget version of affinity, this isn't optimal.

4 Atog (uncommon)
4 Arcbound Worker (common)
4 Frogmite (common)
4 Myr Enforcer (common)
4 Ornithopter (umcommon)
3 somber hoverguard (common)

4 Thoughtcast (common)
3 Shrapnel Blast (umcommon)
4 Cranial Plating (common)
4 Springleaf Drum (common)
3 Chromatic Star (common)
2 Fatal Frenzy (rare)

4 Seath of the Synod
4 Great Furnace
2 Darksteel Citadel
3 Blinkmoth Nexus (rare)
4 Vault of Whispers

With only 5 rares in the deck(not counting side board), you should be able to put this together for less than $40 or so...

I am just saying there are 4 islands in the original deck, and wonder doesn't add much except being a 3/3 flyer for 5, if you can't discard him and have an island in play.

I would rather see a combo version with erayo or a budget tog list that actually uses tog correctly...

I just don't see pyschatog or wonder being very good in the deck, because you are going 3 different ways that have no real synergy with eachother...
