"Spirit Monger a great creature but he rarely got played because it would attack and you could just stick a 1/1 that you probrably made from your Bitterblossom"

I don't know if he was playing when Apoc was released, but I remember BGW Vindicate/Deed/Spiritmonger/Lynx decks running rampant.

And then he goes on to something even more hilarious-

"That is one good thing that Bitterblossom can do, it can block Chameleon Colossuss all day".

Since when could you block a creature with Pro Black with a Black creature? But then again, earlier in the video he said-

"I really don't like the idea of losing my life source for a 1/1 especially when your in the same color as Damnation. So as a control deck say I play it on turn 2, make a token, make a token, Damnation. What did I get out of it? Not much. I just lost some life. And thats not so good."

IMO, dropping that turn 2 Blossom to chump block that Tarmogoyf every turn at the cost of 1 life until turn 4 when you Damnation is definetly worth the 2 life I lost. So what did you get out of it? You got a chump blocker against aggro at the cost of 1 point (which unless your blocking 1/*s, you have the advantage). You have a uncounterable (once it hits the board) constant source of creatures versus control. Even if you cast a Damnation, you lost a couple of 1/1's that will be replaced next turn anyway. Thats like saying "why would I want to play Epochrasite with my Wrath/Damn?"

Laugh with me. Itll make you live longer. Then again you might not find it as hilarious as me. Ive been up for going on two days now. Although I am not sure of that because its all starting to blur together.

I really hope the Premium Articles Authors actually know what they are talking about.

I also disagreed with some of his card overviews of morningtide. I don't think you can rely on him.

Then why would you bother writing articles if you guarantee them to be wrong? and what is "his style"?

Obviously the bitterblossom tokens blocking colossus was a screw up, but Spaniel was spot on when talking about Spiritmonger - before it was released, everyone was like "OMFGBBQ SPIRITMONGER" then he came out and people realized he was an okay/solid finisher, but nothing to get worked up about.

Besides, Spaniels columns are 90% designed for the inside jokes/humor, and controversy/talking about the magic community, not the individual card analysis.

Besides, no one is going to agree with you 100% on card analysis. Saying you don't want to read someone just because you disagree with them on a point or two of analysis is the same as saying "Everyone sucks at writing articles but me." There's not going to be anyone you agree with all the time, and Spaniel makes a habit of saying things he knows people will disagree with on purpose.

William Spaniel is an MTG "funny man". I don't really find him particularly funny, but one thing about him that I do find funny is his severe lack of card assessment skills.

He's a fucking retard in that aspect.

Him writing about strategy and competitive "card stuff" is about as ludicrous as a ninety-eight year old woman writing about how modern twenty-somethings prefer to "do it" and current trends.

Absolutely absurd. Spaniel needs to give up the whole competitive mtg angle and just write funnies about his experiences with friends at tournies and other sorts of droolings.

"3) All predictions are guaranteed to be wrong. Period." - his 3rd rule should be "All my predictions are guaranteed to be wrong. Period."

I do not read it, but Magic Musings are ok. On other side, his Standardizing articles about new magic sets are just terrible. Like for 8 years old kids. He can run some magic nursery site.

But he knows that he sucks at magic and he stated this before. That is fair.
