When a creature with power 1 is put into the graveyard with Shirei, Shizo's Caretaker in play, then that creature is removed from the game, does it still return at the end of the turn?

A delayed triggered ability that creates a one shot effect in a particular zone will do nothing if that permanent leaves the zone before the trigger occurs.

So no, you don't get the creature back.

Leyline of the Void and Shirei say "Hey, I trigger!" And then you get to stack them the way you want.

Leyline of the void doesn't have a trigger I think, its a replacement effect.[/quote]

Leyline of the Void
2BB
Enchantment
If Leyline of the Void is in your opening hand, you may begin the game with it in play.
If a card would be put into an opponent's graveyard, remove it from the game instead.

Shirei, Shizo's Caretaker
4B
Legendary Creature - Spirit
2/2
Whenever a creature with power 1 or less is put into your graveyard from play, you may return that card to play under your control at end of turn if Shirei, Shizo's Caretaker is still in play.

Shirei has a trigger (whenever a..) while leyline sets up a replacement effect (instead, this happens).

So what happes when the Eager Cadet ( W - 1/1 ) is put into your graveyard ? THe way to the graveyard is replaced by Leyline. Instead going to the graveyard, it is removed from game. It never touches the graveyard, so Shirei doesn't even trigger.

What I meant was more like: 1/1 goes to graveyard. Just before end of my turn opponent plays:
Blah B
Remove one target creature in a graveyard from play.

You mean Cremate?

The answer is still the same. You don't get the creature back. If it's not in the graveyard when the ability of Shirei resolves nothing is returned.
