Burn in kiki, needle = GG?
I need multiple targets for tooth varying the state of the game.
Johnno3k: in my opinion Kataki it's not necessary

| Tooth and Nail is similar in style to Enduring Ideal, which means to me that it suffers from the same weaknesses. Gaddock Teeg gives you a total of 3 relevant cards left in your entire deck. So have a way to deal with him besides 1 mouth of ronom. However, I also think that you don't need mephidross vampire. It seems kind of pointless, when you can just use kiki to copy trisk and then ping w/ the copy. the vamp can become something like titan # 2 or witness # 3. |

straight Tooth is able to goldfish, but after that...
If you take a look at the various other decks in the meta game you will see the problem:
Gaea's might get there/domain zoo variants: Much faster will no doubt kill you before you get your mana up and even after you combo out they can burn kiki or just burn face if you are not going for the instant kill with kiki and court hussar.
Goyf sligh: once again faster, also less impacted by the potential presence of moment's peace so the same problem remains.
Countertop goyf: a good amount of disruption and coutnerspells makes this deck difficult for tooth to handle well. Some of the better tooth lists run boseiju however and so if the tooth player is able to set that up the only other real problem would be the presence of the trinket mage/pithing needle option to shut down kiki but usually a resolved tooth is gg against this deck.
Ideal: not a very good matchup, considering the fact that the moments peace are dead game one, and also that they can usually combo off slightly faster.
MUC: Not winnable without boseiju. Beyond that it is still difficult. They can bounce the tooth creature with repeal and cryptic command, or even take them with vedalken shackles.
Doran/Bx aggro variants: Not too good as they have so much disruption and if they are able to put a clock on you you need to topdeck well.
Overall the deck is very consistent at what it does however other decks are either too fast, disrupt the consistency, or sit back on counterspells and bounce. To improve I would consider the cloudpost/vesuva engine as it generates more mana and is easier to set up that tron, also takes less colored land spots in the deck which is good, allowing you to potentially play some good anti aggro cards in hierarch. |
