Ok I'm new to extended .. and i'm thinking about what is the best deck to play IRL.. i'm expecting an aggro based meta in my field most likely BG and Zoo // Gaea's Might anyone have any suggestions on decks vs this meta or possibly there will be a few combo decks maybe enduring and cephlid I should expect.. if someone with knowledge of this format could type the basic decks and maybe even the jank decks like 8 blood moon deck ionno |

just so you know the decks you should be aware of and expect to see are as follows. i will not post any lists because if you are reading this you are on the internet.
Dredge/ cephalid breakfest
tron blue white or blue green
zoo/ gaea's mite agro
the mage's deck (which has been called "chase rares")
black green white rock
affinity
mind's desrie/ enduring renewal
scepter chant/ boom scepter
agro loam
destructive flow
gitfs rock
thats all i can think of for now. watch out for doran. he will most definately get that colon. teeg is also really good now. anyway those are the "top" decks as i see it. have fun going through all those lists!!!! |

lol make sure you cabal therapy enduring ideal, not enduring renewal...
a lot of people will be looking at the ptq top 8 from worlds (it's in the worlds coverage) and the pt valencia coverage going in..
i expect ideal and chase rare control to be really popular, more popular than they seem to be on m-l (m-l seems to have an awful lot of aggro and rock, though those will obviously be there too)
the "unfair" strategies like dredge, tron, and affinity are all pretty vulnerable, so it depends on how much you think they are going to be hated out. people are still scared of dredge, but i can't think of the last time i saw dwarven blastminer in a sideboard...for an early ptq, decks like these are good ideas if you don't think people will be properly prepared to bring the hate.
enduring ideal is really powerful, but a single bounce or counterspell can take it out, so i'm a little scared to run that.
it's probably best to pick a deck early, or one you already know, and tune it the best you can. by that standard i've got it down to tron or affinity |

| i'll admit a gross generalization, but the point i was trying to quickly make still applies - with ideal, you have to go balls out and sac a lot of lands or lotus blooms, and even upon resolution you are only stuck with your enchantments you are bringing out, you are extremely vulnerable to a counterspell on the ideal, or more likely disenchant/bounce effects (venser, repeal) on your enchantments giving your opponents time necessary to win. certainly ideal is still a powerful deck with consideration - but the fragility mentioned above is why i wouldn't personally play it. |
