This topic is here to spot cards that are not played enough / at all in extended. I will update this post for each card you mention(of course i wont add tarmogoyf Wink ) . Here some things i think about.

3BB

Haunting Echoes

Sorcery

Remove all Cards in target players graveyard but basic lands from the game. Search that players library for all cards as the same name as cards removed this way and remove them from the game.
(this card could be good in an controlish deck, it also can win easily games against dredge if you can cast it in time)

XBBB

Death Cloud

Sorcery

Each players loses x life, then sacrifices x lands, ... x creatures, then discards x cards.

1W

Supression Field

Enchantment

Activated abilities cost 2 more to play, as long their not mana abilities. (hits fetchlands, top, psyatog....)

2R

Blood Moon/Magus of the Moon
(you should know that ones, i think their to less played)

Comments, new cards, everything is welcome.

edit: Suggestions from this post

from counter_tm : Etched Oracle, Overload, Ghastly Demise, Desolation Angel, Mystic Enforcer, Opt, Recoil, Sword of Light/Shadow, Wing Shards, Shivan Wurm, Pyrite Spellbomb

from maskmyg: Destructive Fllow.

from Flippi: Nefarious Lich.

2 people: Stiffle.

from Eldariel: Veldakans Shakles

from aldaryn: Slith Firewalker

from aceben3: dampen matrix

Discuss!(i answered later in this thread).

Haunting Echoes costs too much to do so good. Besides, the top decks in Extended right now are NO-Stick, some Goblins and Gaea Zoo. Against Stick, it doesn't really matter, either they'll counter it, or it's too late cause they got Scepters in play already. Against Gobbos and Zoo, you probably lost by the time you can play it.

I've seen Rock decks playing Cloud. It's just not as powerful as when it was in Standard and there are much more consistent and powerful Rock builds out there.

Suppression Field has nothing to suppress. I haven't seen a 'Tog deck in ages... Besides they'll just counter it. Pithing Needle is a better answer to such decks anyway.

There aren't really any decks to use the Moon duo in. If RDW makes a comeback, you can probably expect 3-4 Magus of the Moon in the sideboard, maybe.

ok can't tell about your local meta ( not meant to be an offence, but who should care for it anyways? ) thought it would be about format in general, in which none of those decks are on the top for more than 100%

supression field is devesatating in many many matchups. make tog actually swing 20 times. fetchlands become bad (but then u cant play them so your base is suboptimal). diving top is disabled.
and then you'll slow downa lot of powerful cards

seismic assault
pernicious deed
goblin sharpshooter/ siegegang/ skirk prospector

its just a great card in general.
iso scepter costing 4 is no slouch either.

It doesn't stop prospector, but yeah, suppression field is underrated.

Suppression Field is a card I love, but not quite as good this season as it was last season.

Me and a buddy put together a Suppression Field-centric deck for the extended season last year, and he came in 2nd place in an Atlanta PTQ, his only loss was to the luckiest kid I've ever seen in the finals playing UW tron. His matchups were Counterbalance Tog, Affinity, two other Tron decks (one in t4), two Levy Zoo decks (one in tCool, and not sure what else.

His deck, aptly named "The Butt"

4 Savannah Lions
3 Isamaru, Hound of Konda
3 Boros Swiftblade
4 Silver Knight
2 Skyhunter Skirmisher
2 Kataki, War's Wage
2 Exalted Angel

3 Boom/Bust
4 Molten Rain
4 Lightning Helix
4 Chrome Mox
4 Reckless Charge
4 Suppression Field

4 Battlefield Forge
4 Sacred Foundry
4 Flagstones of Trokair
3 Mountain
2 Plains

Too bad it almost scoops to Tarmogoyf. Then there's Derrick Sheets's deck, came in 4th at a Knoxville ptq.

4 Birds of Paradise
4 Dark Confidant
3 Isamaru, Hound of Konda
2 Loxodon Heirarch
4 Watchwolf

4 Suppression Field
3 Putrefy
4 Call of the Herd
4 Cabal Therapy
3 Armadillo Cloak
4 Vindicate

3 Overgrown Tomb
2 Temple Garden
3 Windswept Heath
2 Swamp
2 Plains
3 Forest
1 Brushland
2 Caves of Koilos
3 Llanowar Wastes

Suppression Field is amazing against just saclands when you don't run them, but in addition to the things already mentioned, it hurts:

- Sakura-Tribe Elder
- Sensei's Divining Top
- Arcbound Ravager
- Cranial Plating
- Blinkmoth Nexus
- All cycling cards
- Jitte/Sword
- Academy Ruins
- Mindslaver
- Engineered Explosives
- Decree of Justice
- Mogg Fanatic

and the list goes on.
